    are you sure that is the OEM hitch...are there any toyota PNs on there? just because it came on the truck doesnt mean it is the OEM hitch.

    i received an OEM hitch (that came from the factory tow package) and it didnt look anything like that...just want to make sure that no one gets screwed around here.

    Dont know what hitch you got but if the 4 other Tacoma's at my office are any indication, its identical. It also has a refer to your owners manual sticker on it for towing, utilized the stock bumper bolts/mounts, and was on the truck at time of purchase...new.

    It is not an OEM hitch. The mount for the 7 pin plug is on the left side on the OEM one. On this one it is on the right.

    His picture shows it upside down, so the mount for the plug is on the opposite side from normal. So it would appear to be an OEM hitch.

    Just checked my window sticker. Under dealer installed options it states "Tow Package # 35171G" The same number is stamped on the hitch. Might be a Gulf States add on package, who knows. Anyways, doesn't really matter, it was on my tacoma when I bought it new, fits 100% with factory bumper, and comes with all the correct bolts.

    Incorrect. OEM or Original Equipment Manufactor can refer to a number of things and usually refers to a part made by the same manufacturer as the vehicle and is usually the original part used when building or selling a particular vehicle. Your assuming all tacomas come with the full blown towing package that your refering to, thats not the case. I called my dealership gave them the vehicle VIN and sure enough in their system the truck came with part # PT79104050 OE Class III hitch.

    Anyways, doesn't really matter as it's sold but please do your research next time before trying to discredit someone in a sale. Keep the rubber side down...

    it is NOT the hitch that comes w/ the tow package off the assembly line as i stated and was getting at...fail to see how this was ownage.:confused:

    but its sold so its all good.
