    i woke up at 630 with this overwhelming urge to not go to work today. decided i'd sack up and send that email(since i dont have a phone) to my GM.
    so i'm sitting on the couch with my dog right now, happy and stress-free. day 2 of being a satisfactory-at-best employee is a success.

    morning, guys :cheers:

    @Martyinco and anyone else.

    I believe the plumber's putty under my kitchen sink and between the countertop (it's a top mount sink) is finally caput. Water is leaking underneath to the cabinet below.

    Obviously I need to replace it.

    Do I have to lift the entire sink up to get a solid bead seal? Or can I just dig out the old crap as best as possible and run a bead with the sink in place?

    Also, any tips on how to do the backside of the sink? It's obviously only a couple of inches away from the backsplash.

    Thanks in advance.

    Should just be silicone caulk around the sink, it would be weird for someone to use plumbers putty around the actual sink and counter top. Cut it out as best as you can and just recaulk it. If you can lift the sink a little it would help out cleaning out underneath it, and would allow you to do a thick bead o caulk and lay the sink into it giving you a better seal.

    Pretty much, sometimes those little tubes of caulking help for that area behind the sink.
