My two measly little screens don't compete.

 

I want one now after playing with a buddies and seeing what the applications are. Would be so cool to set one up in truck and have the passenger do the operation.

 

Well since you're flying I guess I'm driving! What's the top speed on a drone? Can I outrun one? lol

 

Don't even need a passenger. It has a "follow me" mode. In front of you shots would need a passenger though obviously and would make for an equally cool shot.

I think I read 40mph is top speed? Or maybe it was it can handle 40mph winds. They can go pretty fast though. Im pretty sure it can fly 40mph though

I'm not sure of top speed, I'm sure it's different per manufacturer and model. I couldnt even tell you the one I flew was, but it was rad. Link to a phone or iPad and have live footage from the air.

Oh, it also had a receiver distance of 1600 ft. You couldn't even see the damn thing. Imagine the scouting capabilities along with the photos/videos.

That's a cool feature too but I'm thinking for scouting trails and getting some awesome shots.

There are some sweet long range controls out there that can reach ranges of 30+ miles.

It has a 3 axis gimbal. Video is smooth as fuck.

The one I'm getting has a 4 mile range.

And yes scouting trails and getting bad ass shots too. I'm stoked to get it.

 

GPS buddy and return to home feature if you loose communication.

 

The new ones have the RTH function if it loses connection to the remote which is cool.

The only problem with quads is the power consumption. With all those motors, they pull alot of power and limit flight times vs a fixed wing aircraft with only one motor pulling power. Yes the quad is cool being able to hover and all that. But if you really want to get into "long range", then you need to go fixed wing.

 

It's got a 27 minute flight time. Not bad. Also I don't really want to do long range haha. I just want aerial footage on the trails

That's pretty damn good flight time. On my quads I built from scratch, I was getting about a 9min flight time. But they were fast as fuck. Not sure on top speed but I'm betting an easy 60mph. Pretty crazy when you strap 4 big ass airplane motors on an aluminum tubed frame.
