The engine manufacturer is asking the public to create engine swap kit engines. Drop in for the most part. Not talking about compliance as this would be tested by the engine manufacturer.

The one in the video is a Cummins. You might have got a better reception if you explained why this swap is worth the time. It might have also been better if the demand was there.

I'm sure that it's very "drop-in." You should be the first one to take this leap then.

    Better reception...
It's diesel roughly the same size as the existing engine. Engine weight nearly identical. Horsepower adequate for a cruising vehicle and torque nearly 80 foot pound more than the 2.7 and very close to the 4.0 and 3.5 gasoline Toyota engines.

Also if people would actually read the first post they would realize the link goes to the Cummins Repower page which you click on the greyed out engine that says coming soon and go through the survey. If Cummins receives enough good reception they actually may do something.

the issues you have with toyota seem to be just you, I have had 4 Toyota trucks. 2 lasting over 300K with no motor issues. Many people see the 4.0 as a very reliable engine with very little maintenance to be needed. The 3.0 Toyota trucks is a totally different issue.

Your main issue is that people disagree with you on your points of having a cummins over anything else and you cant handle the conversation.

Many companies make Diesels and for what the bang/buck ratio is, the small cummins isnt worth it in todays small truck market. If you want a Cummins get a dodge. Just because Cummins wants input on a motor that doesnt even exist yet, doesnt mean Toyota will allow it to be in their trucks. US market Toyota fans have been screaming Diesel for years and years. Toyota doesnt want to conform to the regulations of the US market for a Diesel, its been stated in the past and even when the 2nd gen came out there was an outcry for diesels. I would love to have a diesel that was more power and torque and better on fuel. but the fact is, Toyota doesnt care what a select few want in a truck. They know that the 95% of US market consumers of toyota dont want a Diesel or need one. So why appeal to the 5% that are still going to buy the truck because they know they are reliable either way. Im glad you are trying to get something pushed through but its not Cummins responsibility to build a motor that Toyota wont want to begin with. They will have more luck in a Company like Ford or Chevy because they are already in the Diesel market and have been willing to conform to market standards. I means seriously have you seen the Def Fluid standards. Its a pain in the ass to put it in all the time just so you can drive a truck. Sure you can get the delete kits, but then thats just more money you are throwing at it.

Again for those who neglect to read. It's not a factory option it's a engine swap kit. I also already own a Ram 2500 diesel just want a companion truck to go with it. Toyota doesn't have to say go ahead either as Cummins is doing all the leg work to pass regulations and go forth with testing. If the want is there Cummins will go for it.

It's very obvious that people on here seem to be against the thought. Nothing I can do to change that and nor will I continue to waste my time.

Watched a recent episode of Dirt Every Day, where they swapped that engine into a Jeep. Tested it loosly against similar jeeps with different engines. It did very well. On and off-road. Pretty sure that is the same engine.

There is also news about the possibility that around 2019 Toyota will offer the diesel Hilux here in the States. There is a thread somewhere on this site, and plenty of articles available on the interwebz. Thatwould mean that Toyota finally decided to pay the price for their diesel engine testing, to get it certified. Not cheap.

    Diesel fans rejoice!

OP, you should realize by now that dicussing options that are available, but not from the Toyota family are pure sacrilegious. Shame on you. :smack::tinfoilhat:

Unless it is a 4BT, or and LS.:stirthepot:

You just have to be ready, :quickdraw: as you know how people have a lot of brand loyalty.

The latest in diesel emissions is Tier 4 Final which is similar to the next stage Euro emissions standard. There as been a big push to globalize the standards so the engines overseas can be used anywhere. Lots of money and R&D from a multitude of manufacturers. Cummins has been in development of an emissions system that is unaffected by sulfer in the fuels. It will be a game changer in the industry if they accomplish this feat.

It's become apparent brand loyalty can blind folks. Their was talk of the 5.0 Cummins being used in the Tundra until Mike Sweers said nope, not going to happen. Sadly his excuse was reliability and costs. Speaking of costs Toyota parts markup is about 400%.

i find it funny that people on here love 4bt swapped tacos, but are treating this motor like its the anti-christ. Cummins has done a lot of R&D on this motor to make it a viable swap for the off road market. The 4bt only makes like 105hp, weigh a metric F*$k ton, and vibrate more than a ladies personal massager (trust me i know, i had a pair of them in a boat i had). This new motor makes 56 more HP, is 200lbs lighter and being common rail injected it runs a lot smother.
