Keystone State Thread

I have stands and floor jacks from both Craftsman and HF. No issues with either. But all of it is at least 20 years old.

 

That's why. Craftsman is not the same these days. All my old mans stuff is great, the jack and stands I bought around '08, not so much.

 

I'll check both of them out, if they have them in the store. If not, you can come crawl under the craftsmen if I get that, to make sure I'll be safe!!!

 

Old craftsman stuff was good.

 

That must of been one hell of a dust storm drivin across Texas/Texarkana/Arkansas

 

I use my high lift and 2 old railroad jacks and when I need to get the rear off the ground I use a floor jack under the diff. I actually have the truck sitting on wood I cribbed up under the sliders so I don't get pancaked while trying to pull the front diff. It's safer than it sounds. I bounced all over the front number trying to get it to move and nothing. Still always in the back of my mind while under something though

 

A buddy of mine in high school got stuck under his Chevele, fortunately he didn't get injured, however it had him pinned down in a most uncomfortable position. He was throwing wrenches at the house to get someone's attention, he was pinned for about 15min.

 

I pulled the Tacoma off the jack stands .

With a 3/8" ratchet unbolting the starter with both front wheels off .

I remember thinking OH shit !! I have no idea how I got out from under the truck.

A few minutes later I was aware of sitting against the back tire .

The truck sat on the Rotors for quite some time might have been a few months.

 

Family and I will be at a cabin at Tuscarora this weekend. Neighboring parks. Just a quick wknd get away.
