Going to be ordering new suspension in a couple days, want a new lift up front with rear shocks and I'm curious as to what I should go with or if I should go with the Toytec coilovers.

    Stuff. Also things.
Was catching up on @SeekingZero's build and decided to check torques on my LBJs.

Added torque stripe for easy visual checking if those bastards start to migrate...

It's basically just an assist spring to help with opening and closing right at the hinge point. Kind of reminds me of the coiled spring to lift up a hood. I think a strut would be better at controlling it. I'm just not really familiar with the geometry you would need for a strut. Do they work well going full 180? It would probably need to be external too

I definitely agree with that. I've toyed with the idea of trying to bring them back and having them right in that price range. I think they are the cleanest looking of the flip open topper tents when closed. The flip package and habitat look more like pop up campers.

Where does one even purchase ADS shocks for a first gen? My Google-fu has turned up nothing, I'm on the fence between Kings or Fox and really want to price out some ADS coilovers as well.

I bought mine from Matthew at MCM Fab out of Nevada. But I live in Tucson so I was able to pick them up from the shop which is here locally.

Thanks guys! I don't know how I missed those on DSM's site, and I'll have to email MCM about availability.

Another option that I did for this last trip was to buy new thick lock washers. That way I can help prevent them from backing out and I can look at the lock washer and see if its not flat. Marking them is a good idea, but hard to see when I'm wheeling hard through the mountains.

I don't think a wildernest could survive the abuse you put Frank through. Granted you aren't hucking frank yet, but I can't see any fiberglass top lasting to long on an LT truck. Wildernest belongs on Igor. :p

Yeah I noticed that this weekend that it was harder to check my marks after wheeling, but it was nothing a paper towel couldn't fix.
