Dual 4 ohm vs single 4 ohm is all depends on your amp and how many subs you want to run.

No idea on amps honestly. I have a Pioneer for the components, so I'll probably either stick to the brand.

Ok well depending on the amp you get that determines what sub in single or dual 4 ohm you want to get. If a amp is 2 ohm stable, I would get a dual 4 ohm bridged in parallel subwoofer and if the amp is 4 ohm stable, I would get a single 4 ohm subwoofer.

I disagree. It depends on what you're buying and what comes with it. I bought some speakers for my wife's Rav4. The cost included adapter cables for the stock harness, adapter rings to fit the speakers and detailed instructions for removing the door panels and rear hatch panels for her specific vehicle. The price of the speakers was slightly higher, but when you added in the extras, it was cheaper and made the install super easy.
