toughest job performed by your taco

Just wondering what is that one job that you would probably never do again with your taco. I have done a lot of crazy stuff on my truck, like carrying a full 600 gal full water tank, once carried a canned beer pallet from bottleler to a soccer game, and plenty others in this ranks... probably beating around 1200 to 1500 lbs. Yesterday I threw causion to the wind, by carrying a little bit more of a yard of very humid soil, twice. Each load equates to about 1.5 tons. Not only that, but terrain was rough and slopes were at about 8 to 12%. It wasn't a pretty picture, but the truck held great. Here is a pic of the loading taken by one of my employees.

These trucks are friggin solid. However, I don't think I will pull off such feat again.

 

Nice picture. Love it! Hardest thing I ever did? Swerve to avoid a mother goose and her goslings at over 70mph on the highway without rolling the truck.

Wow, great picture! I thought I was bad hauling way too much firewood and Horse/Sheep/Alpaca Manure but that picture takes it...next time I load up with Hay I'll try and remember to take a picture. Not heavy but darn funny to see hay piled up on a Taco.

 

I guess I'm a little harder on my truck. I towed a Porsche from Cincinnati to Atlanta on a flat bed trailer (4-5k w/ gear, towed my boat from Cincinnati to Lake Norris Tenn. w/ 4 guys plus tons of gear/luggage 5k, Cut down 5 huge trees at my property filled the bed with about 8 logs and towed a 18ft trailer filled with wood and 2 quads. The last was probably the heaviest load I've ever towed, I'm guessing about 6-7k. The quads and trailer are about 3500 lbs alone w/o the trees. Tacoma didn't want to have anything to do with pulling that trailer.

 

bunch of soda's with 2 guys in the truck and 2 sitting on tail gate my truck hit bump stops a few times on speed bumps(this was around school) but heavy enough i guess. i also have tsb and the tsb aal

 

I know you guys in PR do some crazy stuff but I would love to see your truck 'carrying' 5000 pounds (weight of 600 gallons of water)! or did you mean pulling a water tank on it's own wheels.... just wondering.

 

Pulled a 40' x 1' dia. log about 100' at our property. I used 4L & it didn't have a bit of problem.

 

i filled the box of mine with stuff when we moved across canada, Alberta to Newfoundland. we went slow and visited people along the way too so that was in there for about a week and a half. the box was FULL. about 3 inches from the bump stops when stopped in a level parking lot.

 

Either having 1k lbs of dry ice in the bed or pulling a trailer with 50 4x12 sheets of drywall. The drywall was pushing it

 

mine was pulling a loaded box truck up my driveway in winter. never thought it would budge it.

 

Pulled 9 pickle barrels of corn to our hunting camp. Each barrel had 400 lbs of corn.

Pulled my uncle's full sized dodge ext. cab out of a mud hole when his 4wd would work.

And that is with a 4 cly.

 

Hauled a 37', 2 slide out camper out of a muddy spot and to another location. Truck wasn't happy.

 

With my base model 2.7 1st gen I towed a really old and heavy Scout 2 several miles on these nasty rutted dirt roads. Clutch didn't like that too much Truck was good to go though afterwards

 

"Tried" to pull an expedition out of the snow. It didn't have any wheels touching the ground and likely froze to the snow. Tried pulling while on the snow myself...impossible. Took two full-size trucks with winches sitting further out on dry pavement to get it to budge.

Some people do stupid stuff...Sunday evening on a non-plowed road with a baby in the vehicle (2 families). Found out they lived a couple of miles from me in snow country and should have known better. I turned around when I saw it was too deep and just stayed to watch them get stuck.

And I'll second other responses to the "accident avoidance" maneuvers. Roundabouts are accident creators!

 

It would be really awesome if you had the refrigerator plugged in the bed to keep your beer cold through the night
