I have an 04 Tacoma , it is lifted . It's an off road truck . It's a manual . It just started vibrating a heck of a lot and has a little squeak to it and when I get into 5th gear , when I press in the clutch to downshift it makes this weird loud spinning / whirring noise sounds like metal . I can't really explain but It sounds terrible . What could it be ? I'm trying to fix this truck so I can sell it because I have a baby coming .

I would start by pulling the trans then. very straight forward process.

Aisin/exedy clutch kits can be had for cheap, with a decent flywheel you could just do some repair/preventative maintenance at the same time.

While driving today I noticed that it happens when I slow down or press the brake without even using the clutch . ???
