Toyota Frame Settlement Postcard

i go in tomorrow 8/3/17 2:30 service manager said the inspection would take like 15-20 mins ? seems short time , ill post after i get back i am in Indiana i dont think its unsafe to drive

 

"Inspection" consists of looking at it, if it took more than 15-20 minutes I'd be concerned...

 

ok thanks its a 80 min drive one way so is this the take picture inspection u think

 

If anyone does have the frame done let us know if they replace the rusty towing package

 

So I brought mine in and the frame failed , the dealership said 2 month wait on parts to come in. They said I could drive my truck for now if I want or have a loaner but they had no truck loaners. I'll wait a couple weeks and see what they have for loaners then. It also took about 2 hours for them on inspecting the frame don't know if it was because of all the paper work or what ? but I'm happy I'm getting the new frame, parts, ext . This is here in Maine

 

8AM inspection this morning . Hoping I can be under the truck to point out problem areas .

I'm sitting at the dealer now going through the inspection process. More info in my thread "Where's them rusted frames".
But, as far as that 12 years from first use ordeal....My truck is past that also. The only thing that saved me was the 1 year from final judgement ruling. And, when I talked with Toyota Customer rep they stated there was only about 6 months left on the 1 year deadline. So, I wouldn't sit around too long.
If anyone gives you the run around immediately call Toyota Customer Service. Within 5 minutes they had my local service manager in a conference call to set up an appointment. And here I am, sitting in Dublin, GA. Toyota dealership being treated like a king.

Getting a frame. They won't release my truck to me and will be putting me up in a new Tacoma.

 

I figured I'd share this here too. I have it on another thread also. But, this is a 2017 Taco. Notice how Toyota started filling that void at the bottom of the frame rail. How long it stays there is questionable but looks like an attempt to remedy a bad spot on these trucks.

 

I had my yearly state inspection done this morning. The mechanic said my frame was in really good shape. So my question is how long can I wait to have Toyota inspect my frame? Is there a specific date for this lawsuit?

 

You can have it inspected now. The Toyota frame settlement requires a certified Toyota tech at a recognized Toyota dealer to do the inspection.

 

As of now you got 12 years from date of truck purchase or 1 year from date of court ruling.

 

I get that but if I get it inspected now all they're going to do is CRC coat it right?

 

If there's no hole 10mm or bigger, then CRC is the only remedy. Edwin is spot on with his reply.

My first use date was July 17 2006 so I ran out the 12 years but squeezed in the one year deadline with 6-8 months to spare.
If you set up an account with Toyota.com/owners it will have all specs and info reported on your truck, including date of first use. My rough guess is about the time the one year from final judgement/order runs out your 12 years from first use will also be running out.
The CRC is just a band-aid, IMO. I've heard of others getting it done and techs not removing the rust fully. If the rust is not removed then it is going to continue forward.

 

It's not a year from now. It's 12 months from Final Order/Judgement. That was given, I believe, 4-27-17 or 5-21-17

Edit: it is both 12 years OR 12 months from final order.
