Today and tomorrow is going to be a SHIT SHOW.

We are having a warehouse sale next weekend, and for stupid reason, the "department" that handles and coordinates that can't get their shit together, so our boss is asking my entire department for help each day until then.

The problem is that, within my department there are "teams" that handle different products and different suppliers. My team consists of two guys. Myself and another guy. If one of us is out, the other HAS TO BE HERE. That goes for vacation days, sick days, etc. Sucks because one person is basically doing their job and the other guys's job, which is a shitload of work. He's helping in the morning, and I'm helping in the afternoon, both days.

They also "want" us to do it next week... him and I already had a talk about that. IT AIN'T HAPPENING. We're going to talk to our boss about that.

 

Nuno, what/where do you do for work?

 

I work in Danbury CT, our warehouse is in the next town over which is actually where I live, which is Brookfield CT.

I work for a company called Waterworks. We sell high end bathroom fixtures/fittings, and everything else that goes with them (tile, mosaic, towels, etc). I actually do order management on purchase orders we place with mosaic suppliers.

 

What do you mean stereotype? He's Asian, of course he knows Kung-Fu.

 

Oh man, I do not miss warehouse sales. I worked for a outdoor gear manufacturer in Seattle and every year we had a warehouse sale, which was never on-site. Moving all the gear to site, organizing it, having folks rush through and rummage through everything looking for deals while breating on the back of my neck.... Best of luck Cativelense!

I can relate.. years ago I managed a ski and bike shop that a once a year tent sale. What a cluster it always was. And I never thought we made as much money as it was worth doing.

 

Yeah... we might end up making money, since we usually get a good turnout for these things whenever we do them. It's just a damn hassle to have to basically stop doing your job, let the emails pile up, and then have to come back the next day and answer them all, starting the day "in the hole" already and playing catch up. That's what I don't like about it. Well, that and having to do two people's jobs.

 

At least you know you'll never hit anything
