Thanks for the pics! Just wish the TRD grille didn't have the chrome trim piece. I wish the whole grille, including the trim, was black (no chrome).

Any changes to the back of the truck? Any info. on lights updates (LEDs etc)?

A few pages back shows a screen shot of the changes for 18 and it shows Calvary Blue as a color for the 18 Tacoma Pro

I saw that too, talked with a dealer, they said nothing confirmed yet and that
the Tundra Pro was removed from the lineup.

Think the only thing I liked about the Tundra pro was the stamped bed sides.. wish we got that on the Tacos. I'd put the recessed black lettering on my QS

I am sure I am in the minority here, but here are my 2 cents.

The Limted and Pro are "top tier" units and designed for different consumers, admittedly, but they should each have a defining styled grill.

The Limited looks like it is just a color change. Why not color keyed, a unique style, or a "pro grill" that is a different color, something besides base model style.:boink:

I am disapointed that the Limited shares that same grill with the SR and the Pro has a unique grill compared to the other TRD's.

That said, the TRD grill is an improvement, but still not what I would call good looking.

On a different, yet simular note... Why do the OR get unpainted black flairs and not black (unpainted) mirrors?

Why do you want unpainted mirrors?

My '04 had unpainted flairs, grill, and mirrors. Frankly, I like the look. I think a fair number of us with 3rd gens still like the unpainted flairs, hence the trade thread.

Why would you want a scoop, or a lift, or a topper, or ......

It is a taste thing, if we all shared exaclty the same tastes the world would be quite boring.

So, why wouldn't I want them to be unpainted black?

So you can clean/wax them? Painted black would be better than unpainted. But you're right. To each their own.

Expect a turbo v6 and turbo-diesel option for the Tundra at the next gen (2021-ish). A diesel (Hilux-type) engine is "under investigation" for the Tacoma in a few years, but nothing official yet.

The supercharger isn't dead, but it's certainly on the way out. Better option (in terms if availability) is going to be a turbo on the 2GR. The new Lexus LS500 dropped the v8 and went with a TT v6 (2GR). That'll be a sweet motor, with more than 400 hp. But the trend is drop some cylinders and add forced induction.

Just a teaser for the grills for right now. That's the biggest change in appearance. You'll all find out in a couple months anyway when you swing by the dealerships.
