Toyota: Why pay for resale value if you never intend to re-sell? (yes, I changed the title)

maybe the real problem is staying with a job you hate...that ends up translating into taking it out on the Taco (hopefully not taking it out on the dogs, wife and kids too.) Life is way, way, way too short to stay in any situation you hate. My 2 pesos anyway.

Look at the Nissan Frontiers they come in 4x4 manual and because their resale value is lower you can find them for a lot less.

I vote we turn it into a BS thread! It does have good exposure though, 58 viewers at the moment. I'm more interested in that 12 foot gator that a car used as a ramp.

You are absolutely right! Problem is my earning potential is laterally 3X higher in my current field and I've never found a job I really like... so with my current job I don't have to do it that much (2-3 12's a week)... if it was a 5 day a week job I'd kill myself. Part of being an adult is just eating that sh@t sandwich. There is a reason they pay us to be at work... if we liked it we'd show up for free.

No wife, no kids. Knew that was never for me...

What is the issue here? If you don't wanna pay for it don't buy it. If you think they are overpriced, then don't buy it. If you want one, then buy it. Stop whining.

If you are as rough on your vehicles as you say, then it would make financial sense for you to buy something like a H1 Hummer or a Unimog or something, as the high upfront cost would be offset by heavy duty components and a longer life.

But why on earth are you so hard on your vehicles? Unless you're running drugs for the cartel or fighting terrorists, there's no reason why you can't be even SLIGHTLY gingerly with your belongings.
