Damn, your troll meter must be working today. I'm bored at work and felt like messing with someone.

EDIT: A lift does allow bigger tires at ride height though.

Oh do tell me how lifts magically create more clearance for tires...as @EatSleepTacos said, yes they give some clearance at ride height, but I'm pretty sure we all don't drive on straight roads and never turn.

    Or maybe that's just me.

It's not magic , obviously. You just said it yourself, "they give some clearance". Yes, a lift alone will not guarantee you clear your tire. Caster, rim & tire spec, UCAs, & all that comes into play, and some may still need to CMC. But a suspension lift will increase the relation of your hub to fender. This gives you additional clearance from your plastics & fenders permanently.

Nobody was saying a suspension lift will absolutely eliminate rubbing. Its pretty well known on these trucks that no reasonable amount of lift will allow you to clear 35's w/o cutting, for instance. But they do provide additional clearance, and you are spreading false information by saying suspension lifts don't help clear larger tires.

Not true. You can hit your bumpstop on stock suspension and you can hit your bumpstop with a lift. In both instances, the tire is getting stuffed the same amount.

sorry to interrupt, how does the power feel with the 255s relative to stock size?

I'm running this size, and I personally didn't notice a difference. With that being said, I don't usually accelerate fast, so YMMV.

I also haven't seen much of a drop in MPG, even if they're heavy as shit. Maybe 1-2 at most, which isn't bad all things considered.

I never said anything about bumpstops or a condition where you're bottomed out. Of course your more likely to rub your wheel wells when bottomed out with a bigger tire, suspension can't correct this unless you modify your bumps. Generally speaking, when you do a lift, you raise your hub to fender which gives additional clearance of your plastics, especially when turning.

Blanket statements like "lifting your truck doesn't help clear larger tires" is just incorrect. I do agree that for many people, lifting alone won't solve all rubbing when going with a bigger tire.

Gotcha. I was referencing you saying "...additional clearance from your plastics & fenders permanently." because nothing about it is permanent. I mentioned bumpstops because that's an easy to understand explanation that a stuffed tire is a stuffed tire, lift or not.

Definitely. That is a good example of how rubbing will occur regardless of suspension lift alone.

Don't know why I chose the word permanently, I'm better with numbers than words

I didn't notice any difference in power. The only thing I noticed was that it downshifted just a tad sooner, which made it feel more responsive. It feels like this truck was geared for 33"s.

The general consensus though is that 33"s with 285 width will rob you of some power since they're heavier.

Okay, follow up question, for those running the ST Maxx, do you feel the tire wanders or is squirrelly on the highway? or any driving for that matter
