Where's them Rusted Frames

I was looking at this again and what I can determine with my backwoods GED self is that looking at the pic of top frame rail, there is already rust between the stiffener gap. Even if the Techs removed the rust on the outside, (sandblaster may work) there would still be rust trapped within the gap. Throw a thick coat of rubber or wax to incapsulate it and you have a rust brewery. Only to rear its head again at a later date, in a much more advanced condition.

 

Now you help me and spread the word about your new frame to other Tacoma owners around you, say hi to people in grocery store parking lots, help inform them of the situation. they are victims too. make sure Toyota gets flooded with frame replacements!
get those frames on back order!!!

Shipping across the country on a freight truck ($$$)
shop time, supplies, fluids, electricity ect....

 

Already there. Most every Tacoma I see, I check the undercarriage. And I've talked the ears off everyone round here.
There's just not an issue with road salts like up north. Atlanta used salts maybe twice last year.

tta boy me too. everyone is shocked!!! then they look under their trucks and get nervous!!
I tell them to take before and after pictures when before they head to the dealership. I even offer to take the pictures for them!!!

 

I wanna see more of those frame videos on you tube too, especially the 2015s in a couple more years!!!

 

If Toyota truly wanted to make an off road enthusiast truck they would use a fully boxed stiff frame none of that onion hydro formed c channel bullshit and they would compliment it with well built articulating suspension.

Think of what happens between those onion layers when the salt water that got in there crystalizes because it is dry, then those c channels start flexing and it grinds those salt crystals rite into some fresh bare metal!!!

its sad when my 12 year old tacoma's body panels don't have any rust, but my steel frame rotted away to dust. The C channel parts usually don't rust as often however...

 

That's what got me to push the issue. The fact that I have nearly zero rust on anything else but I can pull chunks off my rails.
There was/is a fault there. Whosever it may be.

 

Don't get me wrong some things Toyota does like the composite box's are great (weight savings translates to fuel mileage), but 3 generations of failing onion frames is BS.

The harder part to get to is softer than the semi-easily replaceable one.
It's like they are playing 'car God's' and producing areas of weakness to guarantee future revenue from service.

 

No holes anywhere that I or the dealership can find Pretty solid by the cats .Go figure . Lots of scaling and that layered seperation which they say is normal . That guy that looked at mine said he has done over 300 frame replacements over the last few years . Then they tell me we haven heard from corporate on the new settlement. WTF . I should be covered for the coating and they mentioned how they needle scaled first when they did the Tundras . My 12 years is up in 3/2020 . Maybe I will get a new frame then

 

that crc will just make it rot faster. if they don't remove all the scale to bare metal.

I hear ya . But these "techs" say only holes are covered and that is normal . I guess I can send pictures to corporate and see what they say !
