I switched out my front coilovers for a set of 5100s to level out the truck on Saturday. The truck was even and pretty level and I had it aligned on Sunday. On Monday I noticed it looked like it was leaning to the passenger side a little. Today I finally got around to measuring the front and the driver side now sits an inch higher than the passenger side. I haven't had a chance to take it off and get a closer look at it yet, but my first suspicion is that the snap ring slipped from the middle setting to the lowest setting.

Does anyone have any ideas to what it might be if this turns out to not be the case?

You said you switched out your front coilovers for a set of 5100's. What coils did you use with the 5100's? The same ones that were on there?

yeah its just the stock coils as of right now, they appear to be in good shape. I bought the truck two years ago with only 100k on the odo, so there is still plenty of life in them.

Did you put the spring seat on upside down?

you should be able to see if the coil seat has moved down by looking at them side by side. might actually be able to see the groove if you really get down to look up there

The real question is, Is the Drivers side an INCH higher still when your fat ass is sitting in the truck?

The spring seats are both mounted properly. My 5100s only have the 3 adjustment heights, which I had set on the middle ring. Only thing I can think is the ring wasn't seated properly and slid down to the first notch.

well the steering has started pulling a little to the passenger side since I've noticed the difference, so I would say yes.

measure (or eyeball) how much shock is exposed below the spring and compare.

I'm going to try and make it to the local hobby shop once I get off work. So hopefully I can remedy this today and get the solution posted if anyone else has a similar problem in the future.

Ok just ran out to the parking lot. I did not put the spring seats on upside down, thank god because I couldn't have lived that one down. And I can see that both are still sitting at the middle setting, so I'm not to sure what it could be.

You might need to just take the shocks off and set them side by side and measure their lengths. I can't imagine you got two different shocks (for 2 different truck applications), but I guess anything is possible. If you still have the old ones, measure those, too, just to see if there's a difference.

Hmmm, I'll have to take a look. It's beginning to look like this is going to be a full Saturday in the shop and not just a quick after work fix today.

That's pretty much how anything I do works. A "2 hour job" ends up being a full day...

You could probably at least take some measurements ON the truck... Just jack it up so the shocks are at full droop.

I'll check the lengths, but I think they will be the same since I ordered two of the same part number when I bought them. Not to mention when I put them on, the truck was even for the first two days I was driving it; it wasn't until about 2 days ago that I noticed a difference in height between the driver and passenger side.
