Right, all those things can be fixed fairly cheaply, and if you are using it as a trail vehicle, wrinkled sheet metal is to be expected. This does not "kill" a Tacoma. Anything can be fixed. Sounds like OP need to learn to fix and maintain his vehicle, and beef it up to suit his needs.
I wheel my truck and am building it to my liking and to make it last.

No, OP here wishes they depreciated more... or that their actual valuation reflected the real depreciating they are doing instead of staying artificially inflated.

Do you predict a "Tacoma Bubble Bust"? Like the housing market a few years ago?

If so please let me know so I can get a "For Sale" sign on my way home.

well, in spite of all of you thinking I'm an idiot, this is great fun.

my original point was that as my engineer friend pointed out: many things go wrong with these trucks that need to be routinely fixed as part of normal wear and tear, while it may be an exaggeration to say I have "destroyed" my trucks, they have not had any more resistance to normal wear and tear than any other thing I've driven off road, so I wish their value reflected that. I sincerely believe they should be priced comparably to any other truck out there. They have cornered a market however and that simply will not happen.

In terms of new trucks and changes in Toyota's marketing strategy in the last 20 years, that is an entirely different subject. This is all great fun but I have to move on. Forum wins, I lose. I graciously accept defeat.
