I'd paint to match, you'll be happier and it will look better. To save a few bucks, you could do the prep and taping yourself... Great find, even after paying to paint it, you've still saved yourself $700-$900 bucks!

I wish I had the patience to wait for a color match one but all I see are white ones since the regular cab are mostly work trucks and the access/double don't fit. Figured a grey would be next to impossible to find

Do you plan to sleep under it? If so, the white will be MUCH cooler in the sun. This benefit also applies to heat sensitive goods stored in there (like fuel) and pets.

My local NAPA is a paint specialty store. They do a great job of mixing to match color and can put it in a rattle can for customers. My friend did this on his white topper to match his gray gen 1 Tundra. After the clear coat, it looks like a factory color match.

Find an auto paint store near you and do the same to save money.

Why bedliner it? It's heavier than paint and seems like it would be odd to have a textured look like that on the shell?

I've been holing out for a Pyrite Mica shell but they're not too common it would seem on the used market :(

It'll add a few pounds at most, so that's not a good reason to not bedline it.

Agreed, I'm just not quite seeing the benefit of it? I can sort of understand for more chip/scratch prone areas like when people do it on their rockers, but not on a camper shell?

It'd be a good finish for off-roading a lot, as I would imagine it's more resistant to pin stripes. I considered that for mine for that exact reason, but left it the way it is.

Color match it or otherwise it can be the defining component of your ride. There is a guy up by me that has some quality powder coated armor to go along with his "super white" edition ride. He decided to cheap out and got this contractor/house style cap. No problem to the folks who like that, but it isn't his style. It has by far become the focal point of his ride, which was not his intention. He is now getting known as the plumber, when his profession is IT...
