Does the Magnuson s/c come with a boost gauge? That's something else to get, and be sure to get an AFR gauge too.

I'd say those two gauges are most important, I ran with just a boost gauge for a long time but I was running really lean it was hard to tell exactly by how much, and when. AFR gauge makes it easy to keep track of that and monitor your ratios so you don't do any long or short term damage to your motor by running too lean (or too rich)

Nope the supercharger does not come with any gauges for afr or boost. I think a lot of people are running speedhut gauges

Yeah I didn't think that it would... so the guage kits come with everything you need to tie them in I assume?
Easy to install after the fact? I'm pretty mechanically inclined but I am having the S/C done for me just wondering how much over lap there is and if I should get them ahead of time and have them put them in at the same time

Having a Scangauge or OBDII plug-in with a phone app like Torque is also really handy for monitoring other things like your coolant/intake/trans temps, sensor readings, ect. These things are that much more important to keep an eye on when you're running boosted.

If anyone wants to chime in on gauges and mounting and install feel free.. I like opinions and other people experiences...
Living in Canada though makes it harder to order from USA... URD for example don't think will ship to me...
Have a friend with a PO box across the line I suppose I could use

I have the PLX Devices wideband O2 and boost gauges, they hook together and display via bluetooth on your phone. I went this route to avoid installing a bunch of pods in my truck.
Also recommend a scangauge to keep an eye on everything else.

You may want to start with just the vanilla super charger then, once it's running good with the ECU flash, start to swap the pulley, fuel pump, headers, exhaust, ect. This way you can troubleshoot issues easier without worrying if the trouble is coming from one of your add-ons.

I am using the Bully Dog tune with no problems.

S/C w URD fuel pump kit
I did something like that, but when I finally got around to putting the URD pump and filter kit in (last week) it just felt better..mostly because it was smoother on acceleration at various speeds. The in tank filter was nasty, not blocking fuel entirely but at some point I think it would have. Would be very interested in how the intake works out..have heard afe stage 2 is the way to go?

I don't think I'll ever pull the trigger on a SC. But would you guys prefer the Magnusson over a used TRD? I've seen some floating around

Same exact supercharger, TRD used to have a contract with Magnuson where they stamped their TRD logo on it and sold it as their own.

Used to be the TRD branded ones were CARB certified and Magnuson's self-branded ones weren't, so people (especially CA folks) preferred a TRD blower. These days though the Magnuson's are CARB certified as well so I'm sure most would much rather have a new one over a used TRD branded one.

I guess maybe one advantage to going with a used TRD one would be getting Toyota to install it and/or work on it, assuming they would do that with a used unit. Not sure it would make a difference.

I would try a different dealership then. I've heard of some dealers either not knowing anything about the TRD flash or not being willing to do it, while others gladly will. Call another one in your area if this one can't come through

I've had URD ship multiple parts to me, you just have to call in your order.

It runs rich, until it goes to boost. So you can drive it nicely and safely by staying off the boost.
