You shouldn't have mentioned his "user name." He will just reply with some A-hole reply. I bet he gets up in the morning "pissed off" at something and goes to bed even more so. What I don't understand is why he hasn't "Lemon Lawed" his 16 TRDORDCSB 4x4 A/T (loaded w/ JBL). But that's just my opinion and that isn't worth squat!!! (I'm sure he will agree with me on that!).

When I purchase a new vehicle and have a trade, I already have a number in mind. That is my vehicle + X dollars out the door. I don't care how the dealership moves the numbers around. If they want more than what I want to pay, I walk.

Maybe I'm just too easy to please...My TRD OR 6MT just passed 8,000mi and it has a slightly seeping rear diff, and the high pressure fuel pump chirp at idle, but I still love it!

Sold my 2015 Toyota trail premium 4Runner and bought 2017 Tacoma and had it for eight months and it's really been disappointing. With less than 500 miles the front body mounts started clicking and cracking so bad it was awful. also the lower control arm howling , The access cab rattle by my head , loose rear u bolts, The leaking rear diff recall , bushing vibration in the front axle plus all the normal turd gen anomalies like the terrible shifting and being underpowered. So I decided to get rid of it and ordered 2018 4Runner a month ago and sell my 2017 Tacoma privately , I've been advertising it on and off for the last couple months and of course I had all the normal lowball offers but being a Toyota Tacoma I did have a good amount of interest. finally sold it and I could not be happier. did not have to deal with the rear end recall and I'm over the whole Tacoma thing. can't wait for my new 4runner.
I think the resale market for the Tacoma is strong at this point and Toyota is still definitely living on their past accomplishments but I could definitely see the future Tacomas resale taking a hit.

Yes, its painful because I'm a Toyota guy at heart. But the frustration and aggravation was not worth it for me , life is way to short and just had to let it go and move on , feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. guess I didn't realize how much that truck was bothering me.

No I don't? There are some issues mentioned that I have not heard about before. And again what did the dealership say? Right now it seems he just wasn't willing to deal with trying to get anything fixed. Just basicly saying truck sucks, and not given anyone's chance to make it right.

If I had to throw out a wild guess, I would say the Dealer said that the problems were normal or they could not replicate the issues and sent him on his way.

Nah it's only a few of us who have problems and do all of the complaining. There are no legitimate major issues or complaints with this Truck.

Previous Tacoma's rusted in half and you think the new ones are gonna tank on a leaky rear diff? Confirmation Bias in full effect here at TW.

That's what one would think by reading his post, or he never even took it to the dealer.

Bout time you see it like it is. Now cone on, I never said that, nor did I insinuate it. All I asked, is what the dealer had to say about his issues? I think that is a fair question. I mean what to hell, he was taking about the freaking body mount going bad.

The body mount bushings do go bad... or are already bad. That's already been proven I thought? Mine has a clunk from the front end also which I assume is the body mount or the shock mount from what I've seen. Not too worried about it because I'll be getting rid of mine soon.

I used to think @smitty99 was obnoxious till all of this started happening to my truck too... No offense smitty just trying to make a point :D I understand there are trucks with no issues, small issues, and big issues. However, to me, the pure amount of issues especially on a single truck is insane. There are serious manufacturing defects with these trucks. I ignored as many as I could now I'm done with it.

What did the dealership say about your body mounts? Or is it your shock mounts?

I didn't realize everybody wanted so much detail but I'm happy to provide.
Actually the dealer portion of the story is what makes it much worse as these are basically all minor problems which were aggravated by the incompetence of my Toyota dealer. of course I immediately took my brand new truck back with this front noise which they could not duplicate. This was a screech cracking noise every time I drove in my driveway backed in my garage or any kind of washboards. Disgusted , I turn to Tacoma world and discovered it was my front body mounts so, I remove the front bumper purchase two front body mounts and paid for parts and fixed it myself. Lower control arm noise same exact scenario I fixed it myself because " no problem found" back to Tacoma world then buy some plugs problem fixed again I paid. took it to the dealer for the rear leaf springs squeaking and it turned out they said it was normal again I turn the Tacoma world re torqued my U bolts and the noise was gone. The rattle in the left extended cab door fix was they stuck some foam in there and scratched my tint and the rattle was still present. Also and I know this is a personal thing , I never could get used to the seating position in this Tacoma the seating always just felt really weird to me . 4Runner just fit me so much better. So in conclusion I owned the truck less than eight months and it's had more issues more dealer trips than any previous vehicle I have ever owned , which gives me the right to be dissatisfied and voice my concerns and complaints. I rectified the situation by getting rid of it and I'm very happy.

Wrong , you're trying to justify your purchase because actually as I am super happy now. If you were super happy you wouldn't care what I was doing like I don't care what you're doing.
In regards to the rusting frame issue that was isolated to Rust Belt states. These big recalls our nation wide ! it's a big difference when people in California the largest Toyota market or being without their Tacoma's that's never happened before. A few trucks in Pennsylvania that need frames are small potatoes. 228,000 Tacoma and counting thats something else.
conclusion I'm happy that you're happy with your Tacoma and I'm super happy I don't have one !

And this is getting to the point I was trying to get to. Yes some of these trucks are having issues, but the dealerships are not doing their part. Did you reach out to corporate? I think folks need to find some way to hold the dealerships responsible.

What's interesting is how the dealership doesn't back the product, but yet folks buy from the same manufacture.

    Not all 228,000 are effected.
