Pulling EFI fuse to deter theft?

If TW folks posted where they put their switch, then....... you know.

 

I'd be more inclined to install a SPST switch and wiring in place of the fuse, with a fuse installed inline to the wiring to the switch. That way you would get the benefits of "removing" the fuse by turning the switch off, without the annoyance of having to pull it all the time and the reported subsequent weakening of the contacts. You would also still get the benefits of fuse protection to the EFI or fuel pump or whatever you were using if you did it this way.

 

This question is similar to something I'm considering doing in order to pass an annual vehicle inspection in NC. The tint on my windows won't pass and I was considering rolling the windows down and pulling the fuse before I went in for the inspection. Windows that roll up and down isn't a safety concern, so I was thinking it would pass. Any thoughts on this?

 

pull the fuse and see what happens at inspection.

 

Fail. That's what happens.

 

And then there is that one vehicle thief with a flatbed truck...

Takes it back to his garage and figures out what is wrong at his own pace or parts it out.

 

Kill switches and stuff like this does not stop or deter most theft. Its just a waste of time. Make sure your truck is adequately insured.

 

Can you put in a disconnect switch under the seat or some such?
