I had the Aisin clutch kit put in about 20K miles ago. No problems. I didn't realize how "bad" my clutch was until this one was put it. Felt like a whole new car.

Just finished replacing the overdue valve cover gasket. Good thing I like to just stare at things and not rush. I found bits of the spark plug seals. They have become brittle, and when I pulled the cover off, some of the seals broke and fell in.

I also thought about painting the valve cover, but didn't feel like dealing with the wait time of drying paint, especially with some rain coming later. *I really need to unclutter my garage.

This is my first post on the forum. I'm not very mechanically inclined nor much of a truck guy but I love Tacomas and I figured it's not too late to learn. This is my 4th Tacoma. I bought it off a kid who put a spacer lift with 2" spacers on cheap 17" pro comp wheels (134k miles). It drove like shit and I really didn't want a lifted truck anyway, but it was super clean underneath and couldn't pass it up (it's a manual). Well, I got a hair up my arse and did some research, talked to a buddy who's into modded 4 runners, and decided to open my wallet and get some mods. So far:
-Bilstein 5100's all around set at 2.5" on stock TRD springs.
    -Total Chaos UCA's
    -Icon progressive AAL pack
    -American Racing ATX wheels
-Pro Comp A/T Sport tires 265/75/16

I've swapped out the stock bolts for slightly longer/stronger bolts with blue loctite. The stock bolts are shit. Proper torque is NOT enough for these bolts when you wheel hard. The bolts will stretch and come loose. @jberry813 can relate...

Case in point when ones comes loose, the rest follow, break, or stretch/bend.

    I don't buy it.

    Stock bolts are grade 10.9.

59 ft/lbs is where they should be. Any more and you risk pulling the threads out of the spindle or breaking the bolt.

I wheel as hard as any on here, and had a bolt failure before I knew better, but haven't had an issue with new, OEM bolts, torqued to factory spec in the last several years of hard wheeling.

My stock bolts are not 10.9. I had to put 10.9 in there. Keyword in your sentence would be NEW oem bolts. Yes, that's the right torque spec, but I literally just broke a bolt off last week trying to torque to that spec. So I don't give a fuck if you buy it or not, my experience has dictated my actions and anyone else can consider making adjustments they are comfortable with to combat this problem, or not, that's their decision.

Diodes going bad is what I got from the AutoZone people. Not sure if that is repairable

4 correctly torqued lbj bolts will not bend or stretch or shear. That only happens when you lose one of them. Having only 3 out of 4 is where the problem begins. On the highway you may be ok for a while if you only have 3 but the forces applied to the wheel when off roading will over power one of the 3 remaining. That is when you will see them bend or stretch or shear. Of course, when that happens you have bigger problems.

All this LBJ Bolt talk is making me worried. I'm going to order some new bolts and install them soon. Is this the correct part number 4 bolts (Part# 90080-10066)? LBJ are new OEM. but didn't order bolts since I though it came with it.

Use the Toyota FIPG, Hondabond is good but isn't really made for much more than a thin layer.

That's Bolt, Flange... (meaning flange bolt). That should be correct. 90199-10933 is a bolt with washer, which some years/models did have instead of the flange bolt. I couldn't say if one would be better/more correct than the other.
