Well I have a toolbox in my bed. Has a socket and wrench set, some etc tools, recovery equipment, spare fluids. So definetly high 30s for my 255 80 17.

I get these installed tomorrow :bananadance:

Opted for 255/85/16. Currently running 265/75/16 c-rated duratracs which have about 17k miles on them. They're a good tire, but I'm getting pretty tired of the distinct hum they make.

Duratrac was my front runner for a while until I learned they are only half siped.

Yeah...I'm about 500 lbs over curb weight myself.
    Gets to GVWR fast...

    Your "max" is 36 psi.

They've done me pretty well up here in the PNW, we just had our wettest winter in over 100 years too, which is saying something. High expectations for the Maxx's.

I've no doubt in their capabilities during the first half of their life. But after..

Very true. I never plan to run any tire much lower than half life while I live here mainly for peace of mind. And new tires are exciting. I don't think any single mod does more good per dollar on your vehicle than tires, but Im sure some around here would disagree.

Yep! 255/80r17. I like this pic because it shows how they actually look. For some reason pics always make them look skinnier than they really are.

I run mine at 35 front and 33 rear. Good mix between comfort and MPG.

Just got them a month ago, so I can't comment on that. If you want perfect wear, do a chalk test. I'm just too lazy to do that.

I had these on my 2011 F-150 and they handled very poorly. Before I put them on I had the BFG AT KO2 and quickly went back to them after 3 months of the ST MAXX. I am guessing the Tacoma being lighter nobody is having this issue? I currently have the BFG KM2 and like them very much, but would be nice to go a little more mild tread for longer wear.

I beleive they had issues early on and they modified their molds.

Thanks. They are a smooth riding tire, just very loose. Felt like the deep threads were flexing too much at highway speeds. I had them on last November, so it would be nice if they improved the mold. I'd give them a try on my Tacoma

I was assigned 2 math1 (half algebra 1, half geometry) this year in place of my 2 nonAP calculus classes so this may work for linear systems. Yes, they changed a few of our schedules that much.... Curriculum principal got a new job and gave most of us a going away present :/

OK, first, that toyo document is the only load and inflation document that comes up in a Google search. How can I get this table for the Cooper Discover ST MAXX ?

Also, it seems that the relationship between load and tire pressure is not linear. Is this true? It's 0230 and we just got back from wheeling to find the kitchen sink over flowing. Don't have time right now to plot the coords! This tires max weight rating is somewhere near 3400 pounds at 80psi. I don't see a 265/70/16 on the Toyo doc that goes that high

LT is an LT; it's a standard.

Correct; if you graphed it would be an exponential slope...with smaller exponential slopes within. Sorry Teach, I don't know the correct terminology.

If you look at the max psi/load for a ST MAXX 265/75/16 it is the same as the Toyo load chart(3415 @ 80)
A 265/75/16 has more volume than a 265/70/16, therefore holding more air volume and weight. I don't see how it's possible...

I'd guess the 3,400 lb @ 80 psi is inaccurate.
    What's on your sidewall?
