i installed a 3 inch lift to my 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport. Added Micky Thompson Baja Classic Lock wheels and 265/70/r17 General Grabber AT2 tires
Now I have a slight shake in the front end. It appears to be worse at higher rates of speed. Had a front end alignment shortly after installing the lift. Any suggestions on what it could be would be appreciated.

    Are your tires balanced properly?

I believe the tires are properly balanced.

You know, the place I took it for alignment didn't give me the specs. They just said it was pretty off. I'll call in the morning and see if they can provide me with the information.

Yes. Make sure the balance of tires are good. Does it pull to one side or the other? If it doesn't pull then more than likely balance. Also I don't know if u have the vibration if you have to do a diff drop? Did you replace the driverside needle bearing with the ECGS bushing at the same time?

To test the needle bearing. But in 4 high drive if it goes away it's the needle bearing needs replaced.

Your tire and wheel combo adds a lot of scrub radius. This puts a lot more force on the outside of the tire's contact patch, forcing your tires to go toe-out.
The faster you go, the more the more force is applied.
You need more toe-in than factory spec .

It doesn't pull to either side. The stirring wheel shakes.
No I did not replace the needle bearing.
Someone also suggested it could be the sway bar.

Try moving the front tires to the rear. Could be tire balance, warped wheel or bad tire. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but alignment doesn't cause shaking, it does cause pulling.

Sounds like a balance issue IMO
    Are the wheels hub centric?
    106mm center bore?
Edit: The wheel is hub centric:D

Worked at a tire store when I was younger so I was pretty sure I was correct. I just haven't been involved in that stuff in a long time.

Not discounting a balance issue; but equal toe-out can set up a resonance.
It should be a concern regardless of any balance issues.

Should I take it to a place that specializes in lifts to check the alignment? This is my first truck I've ever put a lift on. So I'm really new to this.

Did you add UCAs when you did your lift? I would check your balance first..if you try and do to many adjustments all at once it will be hard to eliminate the problem

What kind of lift did you put on the truck? If you used blocks and they are tapered, they are probably on the wrong way. The tapered end (shorter side) is supposed to face towards the front of the truck. The bigger end towards the rear.

Coworker of mind did a 3/2 level lift kit from ReadyLift and the guy who installed it put the blocks on backwards. Alignment and everything was good. She experienced front end shaking when taking off, higher speeds, and when coming to a stop. Took it back to the guy, they flipped the blocks so the tapered end was facing front and the shaking stopped. Hasn't had an issue since.

If you used blocks then take a measuring tape and measure the height of the blocks on each end and that will tell you if they are tapered or not. Then you'll know if you have them on wrong.

303Tacoma, no I did not add UCAs. I did read that somewhere that I should add them.

Leo4x2, It's a Rough Country 3 in lift kit. I'll check the blocks this weekend.

    I really appreciate everyone's advice.

Yes UCAs will help get a proper alignment with a lift
It will work without but that extra caster helps
You should post up in your region and see if there are some TW members to help:D
    Good bunch of people here

Some get lucky and don't have to use UCA's and are able to get their alignment just right and some aren't so lucky. Check the blocks first if they're placed right and save 5-600 bucks lol
