    Good point!
I don't have to floor my truck in order to get it moving like some people claim they have too.

Pickup trucks aren't Toyota's bread and butter. The RAV4, Camry, corolla, and highlander are their top selling vehicles in that order right now. Those are the vehicles they put the most effort in updating. RAV4 sold 41,000 units last month, the Camry sold 33,000 units, the corolla 30,000 units, the highlander sold 19,000 units. The Tacoma is Toyota's 5th best selling model at 17,323 units last month but it's isn't as high volume as the RAV4 and Camry so toyota puts the Tacoma and tundra on lower priority to update overtime.
Toyota is a conservative car company that only invests in cars that they know are going to sell. They study the current market and know compact SUVs like the RAV4 are hot sellers right now.
Also Toyota is probably thinking pickup truck sales aren't going to be good forever when the next rescession hits and gas goes up to $4 a gallon.
Toyota has their vehicle lineup setup with a strong sedan and Medium size SUVs with good gas mileage.
Toyota knows when the market changes when the unemployment rate hits double digits and gas is $5 per gallon these vehicles are still going to sell well while Tacoma and tundra sales are going to plummet no matter how good they are on paper.
That's how Toyota survived 2008-2011 when auto sales were crap and the domestic brands were solely dependent on pickup truck sales that some of them had to be bailed out by the government.
Toyota can make the Tacoma better they just don't want to do it because they aren't dependent on the Tacoma and tundra selling well.

I agree. But the price of the Tacoma is going to up when gas goes up to $5 because they think that a mid size pickup gets you better fuel economy... To justify (with hard proof) that the taco has way better fuel economy is not going to happen.

Now that we are talking about the future, I cannot wait for car manufacturers to add solid electric A/C motors (maybe paired with gas/diesel motors to increase the range). They give you instant torque at low end and will push you up to 100 MPH no problem.

If it was available in AWD i'd have reserved a Tesla 3 all for moving towards alternative energy sources.

Hell, an AWD prius would tear up the competition alone.

The premium package will come with JBL and leather now standard. Tech package looks to be now an additional package and possible front end collision avoidance and lane departure based on the spy photos of the new grille and emblem. I would go with cement. I had a 16 OR in Silver and now my 17 OR in MGM, MGM I love but it shows scratches and dirt, if Cement had been available I would have been all over it. Let us know when you get to order and price change/increase.
