To those that saw my previous posts about installing the ARB twin compressor vertically using a Slee Offroad 2nd Gen (<2015) mount and custom bracket and inquired about replicating my set up.

Just to be clear (because some people have misunderstood), This is NOT the entire compressor mount, it is just a custom bracket I made to replace the upper bracket in the Slee Offroad 2nd Gen. compressor mounting kit (http://www.sleeoffroad.com/products/products_air.htm #SOK001) to adapt it to work on the 3rd Gen. Tacoma.
You will need to have/get the Slee kit for this to work. Installation is per Slee instructions until you get to upper bracket and then just use mine instead of theirs.



I have had a small batch of brackets made up (laser cut, powder coated, Etc.) for any that are still interested.
As they are a bit of a niche item and the small batch size, Cost will be $28 (including shipping) to cover my expenses.

 

maybe put "Custom Vertical Mount" in the title. I thought this was gonna be a thread asking if the compressor can be mounted vertically, which obviously it can.

Can a single mount using this bracket?

 

My custom bracket is NOT the whole mount kit. It is just the upper bracket to adapt the Slee Offroad 2nd Gen mounting kit to work on the 3rd Gen Tacoma.
Also, the upper bracket is only necessary if you are using the twin ARB compressor.

Having said that, if you really want/have to use a single compressor, Slee offers a 2nd Gen single compressor mount that does mount in this same location. From what I can tell it should work without modification.

 

What type of battery is that in the picture?

You'll want their 2nd Gen Tacoma twin mount (SOK001). It has additional plates/brackets to support the larger twin compressor vertically. My bracket replaces the upper brace in this kit to make it work in 3rd Gen truck. This is what is in my truck.

 

Another clean install.
Really helpful to just pull your cleaner tank and air box completely.
Otherwise easy other than dropping shit into the skid plates...

Any suggestions for ring terminals to get this guy on the battery?

 

I used some large 10 Ga. ring terminals (5/16) I had left over from building the RTMR I made. I got them from Waytek Wire.

 

Did you install the dual battery system yourself?
