I recently purchased a magnuson supercharger kit from URD. Using the discount code 'ForumMember' I was able to get a pretty good price. However, being not incredibly mechanically inclined and having only my truck for transportation, I needed to have my supercharger installed fast and have it installed right.

I looked around my area and after several shops told me they wouldn't do it; I found a little racing shop called RPM. You can look them up under the title 'powered by RPM'. I just wanted to share my amazing experience I had at this shop.

CJ, the owner and founder, spent his weekend personally installing this supercharger and it is perfect. He improved on the instructions a bit to really clean up the engine bay and boy does it look sweet. The mechanical work he did is amazing and he is an incredibly trustworthy mechanic. I would recommend him to anyone who might be looking for a supercharger install or any kind of engine work near Orange County.

I will be going back to CJ to have all of my idler pulleys as well as my tensioner pulley replaced (my lower idler went bad and changing the pulley is a real pain with how the sc kit stacks them).

I just wanted to share this info because when I originally searched for a good installer here, I wasn't able to find anything.

I will post a picture soon, just need to remember when I get home.

Just curious if you don't mind me asking what is the ballpark price that one might expect to get charged for an install like this? I'm sure it varies greatly from shop to shop but a general idea? As I get older I find myself much less enjoying dedicating a whole weekend to work on the vehicle lol.

Sorry for the delay. My engine bay is dirty right now. I'll clean it up a bit and post some more photos soon.

For so cal installs, you're looking around $1800, you would be pretty hard pressed to find lower than that. Depending on the complexity of the supercharger it could go all the way up to $2500. The URD for example is far more labor intensive. After speaking to CJ he quoted the URD MK3 somewhere in the ball park of $2200.

Here is where I mounted my bully dog tuner if anyone is curious. You're not required to keep it hooked up; you can reflash and trash. But it's ~$450 so might as well get some use out of it.

"Keep your speed steady to save fuel" They tell you that after installing a supercharger? xD

Under 2k sounds reasonable to me for an install like this. Looks sweet.

The instructions tell you to route and mount various hoses and cables in places that look a little messy. CJ pretty much just cleaned up how everything looked and where it was routed.

The most obvious example is the hoses on the top-back of the supercharger. The manual calls for them to be mounted to the supercharger with only a few inches loom protecting the hose. He did this kind of thing throughout the whole install with other hoses and cables. I'll attach a photo of the stock set up.

Another thing he did was create his own pulley press tool for the 2.85 pulley swap, saving me some change there as well.

Just got my idler pulleys, belt tensioner & assembly, and serpentine belt replaced. CJ did an awesome job; my baby runs like new.

This is CJs car if anyone is curious on the extent of his expertise. Apparently it was in the movie 'born to race'. Never seen it or even heard of it though.

Lots of money for a Magnuson blower install. Toyota dealerships qouted me $600-$1200 for install. $1800 is highway robbery!
