Maybe you should buy your vehicles from the scrap yard. They might hold their value longer.

I didn't read all of 17 pages so maybe I'm not the 1st to mention this. But you don't beat the crap out of your daily driver off road. Buy a beater Wrangler, older Taco, Cherokee, what ever suits your fancy. If necessary build it into a true off road vehicle and pull it by trailer to off road sites. Or keep it street legal, either way is fine, but it should be your dedicated off road rig. Keep another vehicle for normal use.

When I was in my teens and early 20's I used to beat the crap out of 4X4's off road. But they were cheap 2nd vehicles and I still had a much nicer car to drive. Today I'm closing in on 60. I still beat the crap out of vehicles off road. But it is a Honda Rancher that I pull on a trailer. I'm not afraid to use the 4X4 as intended, but I don't abuse them anymore.

The troll comment was just for fun btw.

I can see where you are coming from but to be real, the motors/trans/drivetrain in these trucks may not be indestructible but they have proven to stand the test of Time and abuse as a product line not one model or a variant. When people get wind of that It drives the price up. I am not stuck on any brand but I know my good old 1st gen will keep lasting, that is why I do not plan to sell it. Which is how most people feel, which alsol limits supply and increases demand. My point is typically supply and demand works itself out, it's not a choice anyone made. It just is what it is.
