Overhead Console Compass

I have a 2010 DC SR5. In the overhead console it has a place to put a garage door opener. Does anyone know if I can change this so I can have a compass and thermometer like the TRDs? I am not sure if all the wiring is in place for a compass and thermometer. Has anyone else done this??

 

All the wiring is there. The hard part is acquiring the the compass/temp overhead console at a reasonable price. Only a compass/temp from an '09/'10 will work in your truck.

 

Do you have to replace the whole console or can you just take out the garage door opener holder and put in the compass?

 

I replaced the whole console in my 2009 SR5 with a console from a 2009 TRD that I bought off of Ebay and it just plugged in to the connector and worked. Just make sure you get a 2009 or 2010 console, because the 05-08 consoles will not work in the 09-10 trucks (and the 09-10 consoles will not work in the 05-08 trucks).

Toyota part number 83290-04011 is for just the temperature/compass portion of the console. I believe that it is designed to swap with a non-functional temp/compass module rather than to replace the garage door opener compartment, so I don't know whether it would do what you want.
