Agree but what you are describing is someone at the fab shop that's only job would be to track orders in process and constantly reply to customers. That's a full time job that most small fab shops can't afford. Not a good excuse, just a reality.

I bit the bullet three times by now, as I stated in the OP I was willing to wait IF I was treated with respect, I kept beaning dragged by them like I was the one who owns them money! I am quite saddened that I cancelled my order to be honest because I respected and loved there designs knowing that there bumpers are a good fit for my build. however, its the communication and lack of empathy on my side that was the deal breaker

I see what you're saying. A lot of times, these small companies put out a great product and grow faster than they anticipate. They don't have a plan in place to absorb the increase in demand. For a small shop I think it would be more excusable to not get to emails, but CBI is not a small company and they were flat out ignoring a customer's emails. They have been around longer than Pelfrey and they have a small army of welders. The bottom line is CBI can step up their game and return emails.

I hate when companies act like they are doing me a favor. Last I checked, I am paying you! FWIW Pelfrey is the best fab shop I have worked with to date in terms of respect and communication. I have had trouble getting a hold of CBI at times, but nothing close to what you have deal with. Your experience is enough for me to never deal with them again. There are plenty of great fab shops, why screw with morons>?

it didnt seem like a big job for CBI to prepare all the sponsored trucks + make sure to cover it on the media + send them out in a record time was it?

as I and other members here have stated, we understand that it takes a long time to fabricate the bumpers, and we do understand that a business can get overwhelmed by the orders and work, however, with all of this being said there is no excuse to make the customer wonder about when there parts that they paid for with there hard earned money is going to be shipped. I kept getting pushed back without prior notice! they did it three times! If they had taken a second out of there time to shoot me an email with a heads up I would have totally waited because I would have felt reassured that I am being taken care of.

I like cbi's design, and Prinsu has some good solid points. As such, I am interested in the outcome.

I also ordered a CBI bumper awhile ago. It was also delayed, they never notified me until I contacted them. Also when they said they were going to ship it, it never shipped. Finally when it was all said and done, I had to leave the country for a bit and made a specific time to have them ship so I would be back to accept the shipment. Gave them plenty of extra time to finish whatever delays they had. They shipped it when I was out of the country and it arrived at my warehouse too early. Luckily one of the warehouse employees accepted the delivery or it would've been sent back and I would've probably been charged more.

I have never ordered from CBI, but I have heard they are one of the few companies that give little to no discounts on their products or shipping. It is unfortunate that they don't deviate at all with their business practices if there are customer discrepancies. I do appreciate this thread as unfortunately it shows further proof of what might be in store should I go with a prinsu.

I hope CBI does shed some light on this, cause wow they really sound like they could care less.

Oh, I know the feeling. I've waited for a looooong time on armor orders and I've been pissed at the lack of communication and like you, if they would just send me an e-mail saying anything (even, "why we suck and are taking our sweet time") it would at least be better than nothing. BTW, I've never had this issue with Pelfreybilt. Top of their game!

doesnt take much for a moderately sized company to send out emails to clients if something was delayed. @allpro and @Pelfreybilt did it for me and I was in no place to be upset for it, even if it was for a fuse panel they sent out tracking and updates. Pelfrey is doing well because they have done right in this department, even though they have lead times ive seen with some locals that were over 3 months. Small things like that in business creates good word of mouth and continued business.

Ya it took them 4 weeks and 3 emails to send 6 feet of noise deflecting trim for my Prinsu. Silly they did not have a $5.00 pieces of trim in stock...

I don't understand why so many companies are having lack of communication on lead times. It is worse for business if you quote 4-6 weeks and it takes 3 months than if you quoted 4 months and it took 4 months.

@RelentlessFab does a great job being up front about their lead times even thought they are long. They still do fine even though they have longer lead times than most (small shop, awesome products), so there is no excuse for companies to mislead on lead times.

Totally understand that things come up and change business, but that should be communicated.

They don't make roof racks. They sell frontrunner racks.

Fab shops that make roof racks are CBI (Prinsu) and Relentless from what I know.
