I hear you. If it's a dedicated wheeler or the vast majority of your time is on the trail, sure.

But I've been running the OEM clutch for 215,000 miles and am the typical (IMO) driver. Mostly on road and wheel moderate/mildly difficult trails during spring/summer/fall.

I know plenty of guys who wheel a lot harder than me who are on OEM clutches.

 

Yeah I'm sure some guys love it, it's certainly a great clutch to learn on. If you don't wheel hard it is probably okay, but the first time your working your way up a wall or rock or you need to pop the clutch and gas out of some snow, that mashed potato grade clutch is your worst enemy. Once the clutch is fully out it has always grabbed like 56k dialup loads. But I have always favored a real grippy firm clutch, everything else I own has one, haha Harley included. If nothing else the stock clutch can last a long time but the clutch isn't a hard job on these either so long term longevity is not my main concern.

 

For me it's probably stems from ignorance but I simply don't mind the clutch. Never found it to be an issue on the trail or in any road conditions.

That said, I'm due for a new clutch, have no idea how to do it and will be going with OEM

 

its not fun. Have to pull the whole tranny and transfer case. Would hate to do it in a driveway.

Thought the same. Almost too clean to take off road. My truck used to look like that until I drove up a trail with some overgrown foliage. Also got my first dent a few weeks ago. It's only about two inches wide, so not a huge deal.

I'm still waiting to see Dirty Pool's first gen. I've only seen glimpses of the suspension and the engine bay.

I take those numbers on the door jamb sticker with a grain of salt.

For one, they are the same for all configurations and models regardless of whether the truck is 4x4, prerunner, v6,or 4 cyl. And also regardless of the factory tire size and tire rating (P or LT). For example, my door jamb says my truck came with 225/70r15 tires. Well, pretty sure that isn't right being a TRD model. TRDs all came with 31s, 265/70r16s.

IMO, tire pressure should be based on the tire manufacturer's recommendations. And consideration should be given to the weight of the vehicle. The stock weight of the truck was ~3600 lbs but is now around 5,000 lbs with closer to 5700 when loaded up for adventures. 28 psi is way to low when carrying that much weight. I keep my tires at 40 psi for pavement use.

 

Picked up this genuine leather shift boot on Amazon. And installed the billet battery tray for the Optima by removing the factory battery tray and pedestal. Had to relocate the coolant reservoir, which was a pain to find one that would fit underneath the hood struts. Also got these fruity blue LEDs for the cluster and white ones for the HVAC controls. You can definitely see hotspots on the HVAC, but the cluster illuminates evenly.

Might just end up tubbing that part cause I hate rubbing
