Put 255/85/16s on stock OR wheels and suspension

Mines a little squirrelly but I blame that on not enough caster.

You definitely won't regret it. I was worried they'd be too skinny, but I love them.

 

Anything has to be better than the stock OR tires that I am burning up. they DO NOT wear well.

 

My thoughts exactly. Why Goodyear is offering 60k tread warranty is beyond me.

 

at my 5k check-up, which was done around 4700 due to an upcoming road trip they measured 9/32, down 3/32 in 4700 miles??? visually it does not appear they have work much more but the outter bits are chunked from the 70 miles of trails ive done in 8600 miles of driving

Tire place wouldn't mount my tires because of clearance. Can't tell if it's my offset or if they're just being lazy.

 

What's your offset? Shoulda just told them you're doing the suspension tomorrow or something along those lines. Then see if you can improve things with an alignment perhaps?

 

Thats really strange. My tire place couldn't wait to get mine put on because half of them were taking bets if they'd rub or not...

e: I forget, are you running aftermarket wheels? I have a feeling those could easily cause a problem.

 

I don't understand how you guys are not rubbing. I have Cooper S/T Maxx in 255 85 16 and a lift, and I rub while turning and going up an incline. I'll also rub if I'm slowing down and turning, which I just found out when trying to avoid a car turning too wide. The front passenger is the main culprit since slowing down and entering steep inclines causes that tire to rub the inner fender lining. Not a big issue, but just annoying.
Eventually I will figure out where all it is rubbing and chop it off, just amazed that I rub with a OME lift with 888's.

 

Factory Wheels? How's your caster? Should be over 2 degrees if possible.

 

Undo do the two bottom bolts in the front holding the fender liner. There's also a single body clip to remove too. This will allow you to push back your liner (leaving it in one piece) and ziptie it back out of the way, while still offering protection. Exactly what I did on my truck.

 

Running the stock wheels? Extra weight up front? When you lifted did you change out the UCAs for something, specifically something boxed? Mudflaps have also been cited as a problem spot by @Sandytaco14 with his truck.

I ask that last question specifically because I'm still running stock UCAs and the tires get really close but just miss. I figure if the UCAs were boxed I'd hit them, and I know alot of people get new UCAs when they lift

Yea factory OR wheels. I think they're both around 3 degrees. I'll have to find the results and double check.

I'll probably end up going that route since I really didn't want to cut them.

I have SPC LR UCAs. And no mudflaps.

 

It's probably because you have more caster than most of us can achieve on stock UCAs, and that's what's pushing your tire forward into the liner. Better than rubbing the cab mount though!

 

Also a second gen. No idea how the fender well differ on those. I know you said you were lifted, but that could still play a role.
