Hey man i am in the same boat as you. I have been around idiots with guns and it can be very scary sometimes. My sister in-law is one of them. The safety was on and she asked what was wrong, so then i took the safety off for her and without even aiming or changing the position of the gun she fires one off into the air to make sure it worked.... No telling where that landed....
Also climbing over a fence a buddy had a shotgun and i guess when he was climbing over the fence he squeezed the trigger and the barrel was pointed in my direction. I honestly dont know how i didnt get shot, but im pretty sure i wouldnt be here if i had.

Random thought - we wanted to put a RTT on the shell, but it's the non-reinforced one without the internal skeleton so the max weight is only like 200lbs constant. Who would be able to make an internal skeleton (almost like bed bars but within the shell itself) so it can hold more weight? I don't know the logistics on that to make it work with the shell, but I assume in theory it would work? Or recreate the "skeleton"?

The one reason i dont have a shell! I have a RTT and i dont want to ruin an expensive shell!

 

Yeah, we need the security of the shell more than anything, but it would be nice to be able to put a RTT on it without worrying too much.

 

Im sure Travis that makes the sliders and such could make something. Not sure what the cost would be like since it would be all custom. Probably be cheaper to sell your shell and buy a reinforced one. I think ARE makes them.

Yep, im aware. Ive priced them out for customers. Im just not sure it would be anymore cost effective to have a custom bedrack (for lack of a better term) made to go inside the shell.

 

I wonder how much (if any) structural integrity it would add to just line-x the inside of the shell?

Likely zero. Reinforced shells have ribs inside the composite

 

some even have an aluminum skeleton
