This is why i cringe every time I hear someone mention a frame replacement due to rust issues... and most people say it like it is a good thing in their sale ads "brand new frame" ... I think most people don't realize the techs doing this serious work aren't always cognitively qualified.

I just bought my 05 with a new frame that had been put in a couple months before I got it. Absolutely love it :cookiemonster:

This should have never been a issue to wait for Insurance approval....Dealer should have taken responsibility with high priority to fix this....

Also make sure you file a diminished value claim with them as well since this will most likely be on a CarFax report now.

If it went through the dealerships insurance, you may be right. Although I thought diminished value had to be if it was damaged above a certain percentage of the value of the vehicle.

I cant remember the formula because i'm to lazy to look it up right now but the base loss is a cap% of retail value and mileage% could be anywhere from say $500-$1500 bucks in reduced value....

I think it also goes by damage to panels and structural type damage as well If I remember right I fought for 3 years on diminished value for $1700 bucks....

With these trucks holding high resale value I would go for all i could get....

Ill post who the dealer is very soon after i pickup the truck. Today was the last straw. The back of the rim was rashed out and i asked them what they would do about it. They said...." Well its only cosmetic and its on the back side where you cant see it ".....no offer to repair the rash or a free oil change. Nothing.0801171050.jpg

Kind of hard to see but most is in the middle and some thin metal ring came off the rim hub when it all came down.

Looks to me like the lug holes are wallowed out. That would be my concern. There is no way that aluminum wheel rolled that far and didn't chew some of the aluminum out of the holes. Tell them if the wheel falls off because of worn lug holes, their repair cost could be in the 10's of thousands. If the wheel kills someone, it will be 100's of thousands. Do they really want to gamble that much money for the sake of 1 wheel?

that bottom hole looks especially bad. I'd fight tooth and nail for a new wheel. what city you in? most news stations have an "ask so and so" or some other investigative reporter type that could help you out with their bad reputation.

Im guessing since it messes with the integrity worse case would be it would just crack off the whole center part on rotation which woukd stick to the hub as the wheel decides it wants to go somewhere else

Which is a pretty worst case scenario. Imagine that at highway speeds.
