    Hey All!

What's a good combo (brand, whatever) for exhaust and cold air intake? I want to make my V6 sound beastly! Plus some extra horse power would be excellent :)

Check out URD (underdog racing and development). Gadget has a pretty legit cold air intake and exhaust combo.

Sorry but your V6 tacoma will never sound beastly. Recommend to just leave it be. If you have to get a muffler stay clear from flow master. Youtube is your friend.

The 4.0 doesn't take well to exhaust and aftermarket cai. The gains a miniscule and rob mpg. If your only after sound then go for it. Your factory intake is already a true cai. Trd cai is what i suggest and either borla or mbrp cat backs are nice. If you want a mean growl then go with some Doug thorley long tube headers matched with a urd y pipe and cat back of your choice.

The newer trd cai runs lean.... i would not go that route

Dont waste money on a cat back, just have a muffler of your liking welded in place of the oem one. Stock tubing is just fine unless going forced induction.

My truck has this setup installed by the previous owner...

But, mine has a Dynomax muffler as well as JBA long tubes. I probably wouldn't spend the time and money to do all of that myself, but I'll admit I do like it.

I do also have a K&N intake, but honestly I'm probably going to remove it when I can get the stock parts. It's noisy and it vibrates against the heat shroud, and it's a pain to clean and oil.

I'm running a Volant CAI with dry filter, little more throttle response and nice exhaust tone. worth the money? probably not but it did clean the engine bay up a bit.

The 4.0 is a 60 degree V. You'll never get a really deep throaty sound out of it. If it were a 90 degree V...you might have a chance.

Can you elaborate on this please? Why does degree effect exhaust noise?

GM's 60 degree V6's always had a decent sound IMO.

Oh man, my first car was Beretta. I had a fart can muffler on it, but it actually sounded pretty good.

:mudding:Save your money a good drop dry filter or k&n as our stock intake is a cold air via the fender well. An spend that money on lifting it.

Run oem filter or zero filter, dyno proven to make no difference via gadget.
