Hi, I'm happy to say I've just purchased a white 2017 TRD Sport, 4x4, LB. I currently own a 2008 4Runner (going to sell it) and a 2000 Prerunner that I refuse to sell..lol...Bought a LB so we can put a truck camper on it once in awhile. Currently my new tacoma is getting AT tires. Wanted the 285, but was informed that they were rubbing, so went back to 265. Also, leveling it. 3" front and 1" back. So excited! :)

It's called procomp leveling kit. Only wanted a 3" lift.. Was told that it would work for the bigger tires (285) and that it would be better for the truck. I was really hoping for the bigger size since the truck is a double cab and so long, but they called and said they were rubbing. Hopefully it'll still look good with the 265's..

I have a longbed as well and I am still trying to figure out what I want so that it looks good. I do agree 265 may look a bit small considering the truck is so damn long. Post pics when its all finished!!

Congrats on the new truck. I just bought mine a month ago and it's a great truck. 3k miles on mine already and some great off roading so far. Even with the stock TRD OR tires it has gone places with ease that it looked like it shouldn't.

3" front and 1" rear: unleveling kit. Don't do that.

So a spacer and block lift...though I applaud your quickness to get to modding, maybe would do a bit more research before going with that setup. With a 3'' lift you should be able to fit 285's with only slight rubbing on full lock in reverse not sure why they told you otherwise. Most run 285 with 3'', you can always do a CMC to eliminate all rubbing. Welcome and congrats on new truck.

This is not meant as a discouragement to lifting your vehicle. Please note: this is just to inform you.

If you are not willing to spend thousands of dollars, I don't recommend that you mess with your suspension's ride height.

Here is the scoop. If you change your ride height, you need to fix all of the suspension and driveline geometry you just threw out of whack. Non-negotiable.

Let's start with the front... Raising the front requires you to correct the roll center, camber gain, bump steer, of steering, and then an front end alignment. The first 4 cost a lot of money. Don't forget: if you have a 4wd, then you need to correct the driveline geometry you just messed up. Again, money.

Now for the rear... Raising the rear cause less trouble than the front, but you need to be diligent none the less. The most important thing you need to correct is driveline geometry. With a 2 piece driveshaft, there are a lot of angles to be mindful off. These must be corrected when lifting a vehicle. Roll center needs to be considered as well, but this is very minor. Last, a front end alignment to correct the faster you just through out. Finally, you need to test for vibrations in the driveline and correct as needed.

Failing to correct the geometry after a lift results in a realization that you paid money to make your vehicle worse. Though, to be fair, it may look a little nicer.

I will post pics on Monday when I get my truck back. Also, will have OEM running boards to sell that I am having removed too, if anyone lives near Modesto, Ca.

What kind of camper are you going to out on? I don't know what kind of camper will be under the payload

Also, AT tires in 265 should be wider than the stock 265 tires it came with. They are like balloons
