So I have a 2006 standard cab 2 wheel drive Tacoma. Everytime I press the gas it makes a clunking sound in my rear axle. What do u think it might be. Thanks.

Your description isn't very detailed, and more details will likely lead to a faster internet diagnosis.

Does it only do it from a dead stop? As in right when you start moving... (if so look into axle wrap)

Does it just "clunk" once or continual clunking?

OR is it when you are moving, let go of the gas, and then press it again?

    Also Manual or Auto?

I misread the title to this post. I thought it said pass gas, not press the gas.
