Well after 92 days (I believe that's how long it's been) I finally got my truck back. I had gone up to start it in the parking garage where it was parked on Wed. and noticed 2 of the other trucks that were parked close to mine were gone. So I went up to the dealership and asked what the deal was because I knew for sure one of those trucks was there for the recall and I was told I was first in line at that dealership. My SA went and talked to the manager and came back and said the parts are in and he would get them together but couldn't tell me when they would get to it IE tomorrow next week he just wasn't sure. At this point I gave him an ear full. My truck was ready the next day although as someone else had mentioned they never washed it. It was filthy!! Best part the whole reason I took the truck in was for an oil change. They never changed it. lol Best of luck to everyone else waiting. Hope you get your trucks back soon! :)

Went to the dealership today to renew the rental, was told by service rep that they had 2 trucks sitting on the lot for over 2 months and still have not received the parts but they contacted Toyota to find out whats taking so long to receive them, its been 30 days without my truck but from what I'm reading and hearing it looks like its gonna be awhile.

    Update #4:
Called the dealership yesterday (after about 8/9 days later) to check on the status of the gasket parts. I was told, it should be here coming Tuesday (8/8/17) so we'll see...

Yep, that is why I am waiting until this whole fiasco settles down. Mine shows signs of minor weeping but looks like it did it a while back and the fluid is full.

The dealer actually called me and left a message that their was an open recall on my truck.

    HMMMM .

Just dropped my truck off for leak inspection. Waiting game and free breakfast ticket too the area upstairs. 1.5 hour wait.

Update: parts ordered could not verify the noise due to liability driving 60 in the rain. When parts come in they'll test drive for noise. The advisor did state I could be hearing "normal" drivetrain noise.

Well trucks been down for 20 days and I called Toyota yesterday to get a status update and there best estimate was 4-6 weeks till parts availability is increased. just about done with getting the run around. They knew my truck was leaking in May. But since I dropped off the loaner and took possession of my truck to move out of state I had to start all over. And I'm the only truck in line at my dealer. 1 parts kit and I'd be driving my taco again, come on gimme my dang taco

Finally...79 days and I have it back. :taco: Dif. was degreased and cleaned. Nuts and gaskets replaced as per recall notice. I did get it back all detailed, looks brand new inside and out! Now for the crankshaft positon sensor. Never had a problem with it but will be replaced at 25k service. Good luck to all who have theirs impounded.

I have been lurking in this post and decided to create an account. My taco has been grounded for 80 days today. From speaking with my SA and a good buddy who is a salesman at the dealership my truck was purchased and is now sitting , mine is the only one on recall from that dealership. I kind of feel like since mine is the only one Toyota is dragging their feet on getting the parts to them. I am now on my 3rd rental.

It looks as though the assembly workers spent more than one night in Bangkok...

You can't make this stuff up. Manufactured in Thailand and assembled Tijuana. They're really scraping the bottom of the barrel on squeezing 3rd Gen. profit margins. They could only pull this off in the U.S market and get away with it.

Does anyone know where the "pre-3rd gen" axles were made, and who made them? Just crawled under my '09 but the labels that remain 8 years and 140k miles later hold no such info...

Entering week 7 today. It's hard to believe next week I'll have to already re-up the loaner agreement for the second time. lol

Edit: Nevermind, I got my truck back today!

Should i be worried that my both my dealership and Enterprise told me that I do not need to re-up/re-sign or do anything regarding my loaner. They said "its taken care of" and "dont worry about it"

More so this gives me the impression that this is going to be awhile (least for myself....)

Damn!!! I am not on the recall VIN list but add my 2016 TRD OR to the weep list. I have what looks like 5 spots where it is weeping.....just called my local dealership and made an appointment to bring it in next week to be looked at. I asked how they are handling these issues here.....they flat out said they are holding the vehicles until the parts are in. Owners are of course welcome to keep their vehicles after confirmation there is an issue but they have to sign of on a liability waiver to do so. Not sure if that has been mentioned on here before I haven't read back through all the pages of this thread.

I am tempted to hold onto my vehicle but I also don't want to be liable for any damage for doing so. It appears to be weeping pretty bad too....never seen a diff weeping at five different locations before.

So looks like next Tuesday I will start the same song and dance as others on here. This sucks....I still had 3 off-roading trips planned for the rest of August and September. Wonder if I can take a Yaris off road??

You only have to renew a Toyota rental / loaner from the dealership. Enterprise rental paid by Toyota is different.

Well just like that, after making my post, I got the call. I got my truck back! :dancingbacon:

After 1.5 months without it, it feels like I'm driving an f350 Super Duty now (in a good way). The best part was falling out of the truck when I got home because I was so used to the Rav's height.
