Yesterday I purchased a 2017 4Runner SR5 with 16 miles for 35K and got 23k for a 5+ year old Tacoma sport. I love my Taco but the reality is that it just can't cut it with two car seats. My family and I do a lot of traveling and the Tacoma simply didn't have enough room and my only good storage was blocked by the car seats. I will miss my pickup truck but I have a trailer and I know deep down the 4Runner is much better family vehicle. This place is great and I plan on sticking around. Stay tuned for all my extra accessories I am sellingin the next week or so (Weather techs/tonneau cover/bed mat/bed extender/oil filters) and thanks guys and gals for all the help!

    How could you?
Lol, j/k. There's no shame in the Runner game. Sounds like you got it for a decent price.
I crawled under them at the lot and noticed the boxed frame, I liked it better than Tacos frames...
Plus, you got the 4.0. I'm in a loaner now with the 3.5 and it just doesn't seem right to me.

And this is why I won't get married or have kids. Why buy the cow when you get the milk for free.

My wife tried to get me to trade my truck for a trip car and something we could carry her parents around in the back seat. I told her fine, as long as I can haul my motorcycles in the back seat of her car. After seeing it was never going to happen she traded her convertible (which had a worse back seat than my access cab) for an SUV. I don't get my way very often, but in this case I did. If not for my "need" for a truck occasionally I think I would enjoy the inside storage capacity of a Forerunner.

That's why my wife drives a Forester. No reason for me to give up my truck. :D

I love 4Runners and if I could go without the truck bed I'd buy another in a heartbeat. Putting deer, trash, and yard debris in the back of an SUV is no fun...

I tried to find a way to use my wife's Highlander more but the majority of the time it was more work then necessary. I work an odd schedule and drive 99% of the time. I am going to miss the bed...that's for damn sure! But overall I am gaining a lot more then what I am losing. My love for my taco far outweighed the practicality and functionality for me at this point in life.

I was considering the same thing but opted to put a tonneau on my Tacoma for now. It'll make it a much more travel friendly vehicle, and the thing retracts if I ever need the bed for anything large. The Runners are nice, a co-worker picked one up about 6 months ago and I really like it.

And a word of caution for others looking for Runners, I believe the 2018s are going to downsize the powertrain like the turd gen Tacomas did. I think it is going to be a 3.5 liter with a 6 speed auto. If so, it may have the same issues as the turd gen Tacomas and you might want to act fast and get a 2017 Runner before they are gone.

Isn't it safe to assume that 99% of Tacoma drivers love 4Runners as well? No shame there! :D

I've been a bit salty since a Runner(Appropriate since she ran the read light) hit my Taco last year...
