I bought a 2016 4Runner trail edition new last may. If you don't need a truck bed I don't see how the tacoma is superior in any way. I still have my 2nd Gen tacoma trd OR for work, and I like it a lot, but the 4Runner absolutely blows it out of the water for comfort and quality of interior. Enjoy!

I'd be salty too, but not the vehicle's fault.

Nope, but the love between a man and his truck isn't rational...

Don't forget to dip the chin lord helmet. Or I guess you could shell out a few hundred for the black pro ones.

If space around the house is not an issue, a TR4 and a trailer can be a better combo for most folks than having a truck and a people mover.

In my case a Highlander (an '04, not one of the new big boys) and the truck make a nice combo. But I don't need 4wd or serious off road ability.

So if you forced me to pick only one to keep, it would be the Highlander.

Look at post 21 if you ever want to install the trail/pro bumper valence(s).

And if you thought the tacoma pro grill was pricey, don't even look at the 4Runner pro grill price, unless of course you're sitting down and just finished pooping.

Congrats, T4R have come a long way since my '86 which was basically a Toyota truck with the back of the cab chopped off and a cap added with back seats bolted in.

    Wife drives a 2014 4R; I drive a 2015 Tacoma. Best of both worlds.

My last 4Runner was a 1989 SR5 V6 auto with 475K which was grey as well and that truck was amazing! A much different truck for sure but it seems as though it has maintained some of it roots along the way.

There is a guy around these parts who frame-off restored one, with a supercharged 5VZ-FE, among other things. Sweet rig.

That's my oldest son sitting in it:

Sadly, there was a news report of a fire at a storage locker, and his Trekker was visible inside the storage locker in the photo. Not sure how bad...

I love my truck, but I think I could also love a 4Runner. I love driving my wife's. It rides soooo much nicer than my truck even with thousands into my suspension.

Her AC sucks compared to mine though. This is very important in AZ. :bananadead:

Agreed. A silver 4Runner looks good either way.
The silver against my white looked bad imo. I dipped it the first night I owned it!
