Holy shit, i guess there was an accident on Morrison this week. Switch backs are closed. 2 people died.

 

hmm Brett...maybe 8'' will be good. Marc used 9'' ones.

Should be easy to measure though. I can't remember what my LT ones are.

Just talked to Tom via Cellphone.

They were at the accident. Happened today, was a UTV. Both people died. They called 911 and a helicopter came in.

All of them took body damage on the "fuck it" rock that my dad did and Brandon. Tom broke a CV on the switchbacks and had to finish in 2wd, lot of winching happened.

Pretty nuts day id say. But they all made it up.

Yeah that Tom. He had organized a trip up Morrison and Goose this weekend. He went home as his CV is broken. Rest of the group is headed into Goose today.

Very tragic news. Tom said they weren't part of any group, just by themselves. Mom and dad of two kids. 4runner guy with them called in 911. SAR flew in a Reach helicopter.

Really sad.

Tom was sitting in his truck when he heard loud reving followed by the loud crashes and thumps of it rolling down the cliff.

 

This does not surprise me one bit.

Yeah im not going to try to though. We should get there right at dusk, but hard to say. Also i'll be in Frank so..im not worried at all.

"Cody Couple Perish in ATV Crash

A Cody couple died on Friday, August 4, 2017 when their ATV side-by-side tumbled off of the Morrison Jeep Trail. Allen Heald Phillips, age 69 and his wife Annette, age 66 were ascending the trail at approximately 2:00 p.m. with a group of friends when the crash occurred.

The Morison Jeep Trail (Forest Service Road 120) is located in the Clarks Fork Canyon southwest of Clark, approximately 4.5 miles from the end of Highway 292. It is a steep set of narrow switchbacks that ascends some 5,700 feet to the Beartooth Plateau.

The call came into the Park County 911 Communications Center at 2:47 p.m. reporting the crash. Initial reports were one confirmed fatality and one critically injured. A Park County deputy was immediately dispatched to the canyon as were members of the county’s Search and Rescue Unit, Clark Fire, Clark First Responders, an ambulance from Powell Valley Hospital and a helicopter from REACH Air Medical Services.

At 3:25 p.m., REACH Air Medical was able to land their helicopter in the canyon ½ mile from the crash scene. Their medical personnel were then able to hike up to the scene where they pronounced both victims deceased.

While no one actually witnessed the crash, statements from the Phillips’ companions and evidence at the scene indicated that the couple had attempted to negotiate a hairpin turn in the trail and took the switchback too wide. They then attempted to back up to get a better angle on the turn but in doing so, accidentally backed over the edge and tumbled down four levels of the trail before the ATV came to rest on its top in the middle of the trail below.

Both victims were eventually recovered by members of the Park County Search and Rescue Unit with assistance from Clark Fire. At 8:30 p.m., they were brought out of the canyon and turned over to representatives from the Park County Coroner’s Office. The Morrison Jeep Trail has been closed by the US Forest Service until further notice."

And Ben, that sounds like a poorly thought thru idea. If you are looking to get rid of the debt her and your car represent, sell them out right. You guys have two other vehicles to drive in the mean time. Once they are sold, then go buy what you want/need. Sellers will never get their value out of a trade-in. The car lots/dealerships hold all the cards in that poker game.

The manual isn't bad. It's the auto that's terrible. The motor is also pretty gutless down low. Not anything like your current v6.

I'm with Mike. If you're trying to get ride if some debt. Sell them both. Get her a 4runner for 10k and move on.

 

I drove the auto last week. I really liked the interior and the way it drove. Would rather it was a manual but overall I would own one if I thought I could afford it

 

Do you 'need' a 6 foot bed? Which one would you get?
