I've got an '08 Tacoma, SR5 Prerunner, 4.0l v6 all that good stuff, but i have one problem with it. It was originally a North Carolina car and does not have 4 wheel drive. Given that I live in Maryland, My truck slides on just about everything. I was wondering if anyone had any cheap ideas for some extra rear weight? I was thinking about buying some sandbags and putting them in the bed. Thanks in advance!! :)

When I'm not hauling/towing my front tire pressure is ~34 and the back ~31.

Seems to get better traction for me in the rain. I'm in Tampa, FL and the swamp produces tempestuous weather.

Tires are 265/70R16 Cooper Discoverer A/T3s. A little extra weight would certainly help though.

Bilstein/Icon 2" suspension lift with wheelers 5 leaf springs, 7-pin relocate through bumper, bfg KO2s, redline hood struts, immryo mirror relocation, stubby antenna, dipped emblem, heated mirrors, Jason trek cap, led fogs, debadged
Camper shell is a good one. Lead weights in bed cubbies? Sand bags are great, but annoying if you routinely use your bed.

I know a guy that changed tires in winter and kept stock tires in bed.

I haven't used the bed much yet, but I can see where sandbags would be annoying. The lead weights might be the way to go.

Lead is somewhere around $1 per pound. That's going to add up pretty fast.

My dad used to get scrap metal chunks from machining and put them into a wooden sealed box he made. A few hundred pounds in Wisconsin winter's. He never had 4x4. Don't put them too far back. Right over or slightly behind the rear axle

Concrete pavers. 11x12" 6 of them. About 360 lbs. Used them in my 2002 during the icey winters and seems to work pretty well as long as you don't drive like an ass.

Still waiting to try them out in my 15.

Likewise. My penchant for stylistic diction reveals itself in mysterious ways.

Puzzle weights look to be a good solution. Keeps the bed clean and free for use, avoiding a mess. The only problem is for a Tacoma the cost would probably be ~200.

Bigger tires with more traction and custom/aftermarket progressive springs? Full cross box. Worked on my 18804 Chevy.

I heard that model will have issues with the neuron britanium thrusters and gets poor ratings from the ISEEPA along with a glitchy uranium declassifier mechanism.
