Hard to say because it would all be hypothetical. The guy in me wants a blue 4 door off road with short bed just because, but I would never build it up or seriously off road it. Pretty much would buy it on the premise of driving a small reliable vehicle that I think is neat which puts me in the realm of not needing it, Only reason I would want a newer vehicle would be a family wagon in which case I would get a 4Runner. Also I don't like debt either. Have had enough of that game with the business so I only use it for necessity not toys.

 Totally danced around the question but what you are saying is absolutely correct. Debt except for investment in the future (home buying) is what keeps people from getting on top of their situation. It never works when the asset is depreciating.

IMO, a 5 ft bed just doesn't work for an adventure rig. It induces to many required compromises. A rig with a longer bed but easy access to the back seat makes way more sense.

Disagree. I've always had spare room with my 5' bed. Packs better then frank.

Idk man the used ones here in lander are holding there value just like the 2nd gen. There actually are used 16's priced higher than new 17's on the lot here. It's nuts

I don't really know but it seems like those suicide doors in the access cab of 2nd gens seems like it would be easier. I'm thinking about access to the fridge in the back seat.

I am not jealous for a second about your fat faced overpriced turd.

I bet it would have been great to sell both vehicles, pay off your loans, and then get a used 3rd Gen 4runner, or 1st gen double cab, or used 2nd gen for cheaper...sorry man. But that doesn't take knowing your finances to know that that would have been cheaper and better financially.

That's just due to the name though. No different then a BMW costing a lot.

Nice Ben. I like it, It's a known chassis (essentially) to you and tacos just make sense in their all around usability when stock for you guys. I hope the third gen doesn't have any issues and if it does warranty isn't a bear to get covered. I've been disappointed with my warranty coverage...

I thought the 4 door jeeps were pretty cool as well until we ended up with one a few years ago. Pretty much the same thought, cheap and horrible to drive. Don't think you will regret the 3rd gen if it consolidated and lowered your debt. Did you get the manual? I haven't even seen a manual in the wild yet.

I thought the snout would be tough to look over when driving but was quite surprised how little I noticed it's size. Although my test drive was brief I was impressed how comfortable the vehicle was to drive and the ergonomics of the interior. Salesman friend has been wanting to show me "Crawl Control" for the last few months so that's what we went and did on the drive. although I still think it's a gimmick I was impressed with the engineering and how the truck responded while in crawl mode.

Lol you won't miss it. I think it's for people who maybe don't off-road much and don't have confidence in themselves to do it, but in knowing the truck could help them might go out and adventure a little more.

We climbed a steep dirt grade and it broke loose to the point where forward progress was stopped and the truck figured it out to make the ascent. All I did was steer. The descent was the neatest part. Truck used the abs and trans to keep it at a constant speed. Made horrible noises lol but pretty neat nonetheless.
