I'm looking at adding a lift to my 2010 OR and would like some help, feedback, donations or suggestions.... I'm trying to keep it budget friendly (under 1k unless I add the UCA then 1300 our so as the OME setup is with it)
I want to keep it at or under 3 inches.
I plan on getting a bumper someday (this makes coil choice hard since I won't have the added weight for awhile). I could change coils down the line I guess...
I don't do any serious offroading, but I do haul a trailer with my ATV's....
But I think I've narrowed it down to these two.....

    Or

Do I really need the UCA?
    Coil choice?
I've been looking at options for months now and now i think I'm more confused than i was when i started...
    Thanks in advancePSX_20170719_232229.jpg

The 5100s are a good choice with some spc uca. If your hauling weight then I would opt for the Dakar leaf packs. But the 3 leaf aal is still a good option.

So you think the 5100s over the OME? I know everyone seems to swear by them but OME seems like a well known brand as well....

I have no experience with the ome shocks but I know they're not adjustable like the 5100s are. I've heard the 5100s ride better to.

If your going to lift it a few inches, I would go with UCA's that way you get your alignment back to spec. When I got my suspension I personally went with the heavier coil even though at the time I didn't have a front bumper. I figure I would ride with a stiffer ride than to change the coils later.

The adjustability really doesn't matter though because I wouldn't be using stock coils so the coils would be doing tht lifting not the shock but that is a feature that is definitely nice about the 5100s..
Hoping someone with the OME's will chime in lol

Yeah from everything I'm reading aftermarket UCA's are good to have.... just almost double the price of the lift lol
How stiff was it..? Really bad? I would rather not have to buy coils 2x but I have no idea when or even if I'll get a bumper....

5100 fronts have more travel than OME fronts. I would also suggest Dakar springs. Pair up extended billies with them. I think it's the 5125 you'd want. I have the B110, but that opens a whole other can of worms.

Lifting these trucks is like throwing a gremlin in water. Be prepared to to the ECGS diff bushing. Also do your research on measuring driveline angles and shimming to match them properly.

    Do the UCAs. Seriously.

I'll have some total chaos UCAs and radflo 2.5 extended travel coil overs in the next few weeks for sale if you're interested.

    UCA's Will definitely do.
Didn't think the drive line/ shimming/diff bushing came into play with a lift under 3 inches? Hmmm

The diff bearing is garbage. Replace it while you're in there. You may or may not get driveline vibes. LR UCAs have the most travel and cost the least of all the high quality options. Plus, they're adjustable.

I like my OME setup, but I do wish it was adjustable up front. I ordered the kit including spc uca's from headstrong off-road for just over $1700 (w/ 885's pre assembled. I chose the 885 because they have the lowest spring rate + the most height at 590lbs/395mm. if I had to do it again I'd save the money and assemble them myself) but the ride is worth it. It's not luxury for sure but it's hardly different than stock, Even with load range e tires. If it were easier, I would remove my top plate spacers as I feel they make the front a little harsh, not worth it for 1/4" more lift. The dakars in the rear are excellent. I've tried all combinations of shims and carrier bearing drops to eliminate take off vibes, but nothing has gotten rid of them. I have no experience with 5100's but people who run them seem to like them.
