When I start my truck up, as it turns over, it seems to take just a second longer than other vehicles I have driven. Is this indicative of the truck?

you could seafoam it, usually helps out a bit, and clean your throttle body.

^I seafoam on a regular basis, if his is like mine thats just the nature of the beast.

Mine does and it annoys the shit outta me. I sometimes get carried away and stop turning it right before it starts. Only to seem to take twice as long the second time.

Every once in a while, my truck won't start. This ever happen to anyone else??? It turns over but just won't start. So I let it sit for a minute or so, and then try again and it fires up.

I do it all the time. My truck is new and it gets to me almost as bad as the stability control. I have the habit of just bumping the starter when the truck is warm, like when I get gas and get back in after it only being off for a min. I think its the high compression because my vette did it too.

Yea this is pretty normal. I actually PM'd chris4x4 about this and his response was that the ECU would not let the engine start until the oil pressure was up. IDK what sea foaming it has anything to do with the start up but i noticed that when i upgraded the oil to 10w-40 it mostly stopped doing it. Which makes me think chris is right. Im sure he will chime in any second and clarify what exactly is going on. Anyways, appearantly 7-10 turns is normal for most Tacos. If youre within that range i wouldnt worry about it.

My 4-cyl does the same thing, around 5-7 spins before it fires up. This is a little more cranking than other FI vehicles I've had but does not seem excessive. (What bothers me more is the hanging high RPM on cold start.) Carbureted vehicles typically will fire with a bump of the starter once they are warmed up.

That's true. I've noticed that it isn't near as fast as my Escape.

That TSB doesn't answer why my truck has done it. I have no JBL system, and even if I did it would already have the new updated amp.
