This ain't right, right?

Absolutely not right...... ball joint failure (to start).

 

Is it an easy DIY fix for a novice with a torque wrench @Janster ? I guess I need new shocks while I'm in there... That one is leaking oil.

I know Autozone does, It can be done other ways but prob not recommended. I just changed one on my atv and used a plastic mallet. Luckily I didnt mess it up hammering it in

 

Is the lower one also broken or is it twisted like that because I have the wheel off?

 

its looks weather cracked rubber prob looks pinched because you have it off the ground but if you have the funds Id change upper and lower all at the same time.

 

this is what you get for running a cheap spacer lift. overextended balljoints ramming the spindle into the coil.

 

the others will soon go out if they arent bad already.

x2. Spacer lift is the root of the problem here.

 

I agree @Squeaky Penguin the upper ball joint on the driver side is also bent up. Its not as bad, but it ain't right.

 

Is it possible to change the rubber only on the lower ball joint or is there more than meets the eye?

 

5100s or ome bare minimum if you wana stay lifted.
