I put 285/75/16 on my TRD pro.

All the way to the right. (It will rub the UCA.) Shocker!

Looks great. Have you taken it off-road yet? Rubbing? Looks tight.

Yeah, just a very light trail and I didn't get any rubbing. I was trying to get it to. I know it will though on the right trail. I'm probably going to go with 265/75/16. I won't have to worry then.

285 is pretty wide, what's the limit on a 7" wide rim? I had read this from Dustin of FN Wheels

Bfg ko2 makes a 275/70/17. Maybe they'll make a 275/75/16 soon. I'm getting a set for my trail 4Runner. Perfect size, looks big like a 285 but fits better like a 265 as far as rubbing goes.

Just stumbled on this. Any update on how the tires run? Have a TRD Pro as well and was thinking of running the same tire size.

I'm running 265/75/16 KO2's now. They would rub on the UCA while out and about on trails if you locked out the steering wheel. Didn't want to deal with it. So I went down a size. I know some people are happy running 285/75/16 and don't have any problems. If you just plan on driving in the city they will work for you. If you do anything crazy off road. You might want to do something else.

Also the spare tire will be a pain in the butt to fit. Unless you put it in the bed of the truck. You can flatten out the metal pieces that hold the spare tire in place. (But that's up to you)

No problem at all. That's a good idea. You wont have to worry about anything and you can still fit the spare with out any problems.

@KDRacing did a video of these tires (285/75/16) on his OR with TRD Pro wheels. He didn't get rubbing on the UCA's but did get a little rubbing on the front fender. Heat gun fixed this up quick. Really cool to see these tires JUST fitting with the TRD Pro wheels. Definitely will be my next set of tires once my stock ones are done.

His video is great as it shows the tires at full stuff.

Yeah, I watched that probably about 100 times before I bought them. Then I heard and felt the rubbing on mine and just didn't want to mess with it.

Mine don't really rub while offroading and I've taken them through some pretty rough stuff.

The only small part they rub is on the back side of the fender well, but a heat gun would take care of it - I'm just lazy.

    Like, so many.
No rubbing? I'm really surprised more people don't run these. I'll look into that when it's time for new tires.

On my 4runner, no rubbing stock or with my 2.5/1.5 lift

The reason I want to go with the TALLEST tires possible is to make clearance for the diff. I christened my TRD Pro (all stock) on a trail and got a couple dings on my rear diff. Only taller tires can help with clearance of the diff. Hence why I believe taller rules over width (for my needs at least).
