Yay! This is the nicest set up I've seen

 

Ya. It looks off for sure. But there's no other place unless I can somehow rig something up to the rear bar on the softopper on the inside? I dunno.

 

Might as well check it out! See you'll still get the light you need from in there!

 

Something like that could work. Just off road with the rear window up/off. The plan is for amber lights there anyways instead of the regular whites

 

Guess you'll just have to flush mount them in the tailgate

 

Lol nah. Not cutting up the bumper. I want to get maximum value out of it when I sell it for steel

Does the bestop have a rail on the ceiling right at the back window? You could maybe have some sort of bracket hang downward and have the lights in the window. So they're visible without having to take the back panel off
And higher than the tailgate

 

definitely a no-no taking the back window off while froading. Ask me how I know

 

Lol yeah I usually regret it when I do

 

super fine dust everywhere. F that. It is a lot better with all the widows off. At least the airflows backwards as opposed to circulating right in.

That's what I was thinking too originally. But I think johnstons or chans ideas would be more sturdy
