Not a bit. I purchased a new SR5 DC in 2013 with the 4.0 and enjoyed it -- Sold it after about a year (no issues). When I was in the market again, all I wanted wast a base SR Access Cab 4x4 4cyl w/5spd. It's a great no thrills truck that's dependable. If I want to ride in a fully loaded vehicle -- I'll drive one of the other cars in the garage.

Love my SR. Cracks me up to see people buy the optioned rigs only to pull all the stuff off it or black out everything and make it look like an SR.

I was behind a Nissan truck the other day and the left rear fender flare was flopping in the wind. Made me glad not to have any on my truck.

    The manual transmission.

I might have considered SR5 trim if I could get the 2TR MT AC. TRD trucks were out of my budget. The SR was my only choice, and it's been great. There is nothing the other trucks have that I wish mine did too.

These posts sum it up for me. Anything desired from the higher trims, I added it myself.

    Wanted the 2trfe, and manual.

I was bummed about not having the MFD, but not since grabbing a scangauge (which has been scary accurate over 5 tanks now).

The SG look is outdated, but it actually matches the SR digital dash pretty well.

Great feedback gang, thanks for chiming in.

    So true on the ScanGuage...

The SG2 looks at home doesn't it and they are very accurate also. Even more accurate when you try and use the same pump at the same station all the time. (When you can)

I'm pretty settled on the SR due to the price and the fact I'll be adding what I need and want in time.

My dealer will sell me one for 30,866 with tow and conv too. Well, order it and see how many months it takes to come in, hahaha

Honestly if I could get an SR5 w/out flares maybe but now that you can't when you get a DC I'm really leaning towards the SR.

In hauling around a family and needing 4wd it's the DC model for me.

The tint will be scheduled ASAP after delivery. Actually have thought about fogs using an existing switch hole where you MT guys have the clutch start cancel switch. I have one from a second Gen Taco and would just need to replace the backlight bulb cover to match the newer dash colors.

Keep the feedback coming and the pics of your SR trucks!

I don't think you need to worry about the flares rubbing paint off.

I just added a set to mine, and 3M tape is all that will ever contact the painted surfaces.

When I took off my weathertech mud guards (no flare) there were wear marks from those. But, at least there is a protective film in that area. Something to consider.

Really depends on the wheel setup you plan to run. 0 offset really needed them(flares), IMO.

So the '17 SR has a digital speed odometer now? If that is the case I may trade down next year just to get out of a black truck.

Pretty sure the odometer has always been digital from 2nd gen and up.

I think you guys are mixing up "Odometer" and analog needle "Speedometer"

Odo is digital, I'm sure the speedo is digitally driven but looks like a traditional gauge with a needle for values.

Now on the MID in an SR5 and up you can have your digital speed displayed.

I'm really curious now after watching some videos on the TSS system if the 2018 SR models will even have it.

There seems to be a lot of info surrounding the MID offered on almost every model of Toyota now.

SO if the SR doesn't have the MID, maybe it won't get the Safety Sense stuff.

If you have an auto trans do you see any gear indicator in the gauges?
