Yeah for sure, I'm probably gonna go over some of it again with the sander and then they say to use MEK or something, hoping to paint Wednesday.

Twas a good day! Finished up most of everything on my LS swap, finished the custom console and took the truck on a good 30 mile test drive. Truck did perfect and has a ton of power!IMG_20170806_191831_816.jpg

Haven't had much time to work on it lately, but got the frame pretty well stripped Saturday morning. Still have to pull the rear springs, rear end, front struts, steering rack and then she's ready for sandblasting.

Replacing steering rack bushings, inner and outer tie rods on both sides. That got most of the steering play, gonna do the steering rack slip joint fix and/or the rack guide mod and see if that gets the rest of it or if the shop will finally let me get an alignment...

What is the process of the rack guide modification. Is it the same as the slip joint fix. This is next on my list for maintenance.

That center console is gorgeous. Does it get super hot?

Nice  I noticed when I put in my vinyl floor I felt the trans temps that much more, was thinking that thing would conduct a lot of heat. But I also assume with that much metal it dissipates well too.

Thinking about getting a cordless impact gun for bell housing bolts and hard to reach fasteners or finicky things like drive shaft flange bolts - not lug nuts and easy to reach stuff. Should I go with 3/8 or 1/2? I'd like to get a Dewalt or _________ equivalent. Based on personal or others' experience what do you recommend?

Also I'm swapping a 5vz and it came from a truck with 2 cats but mine only has one - I just keep my exhaust?
